I like it a lot better than Craig's character poster.

Very 1960's. Reminds me of the Lazenby shoot in front of Big Ben.

That is so much better. Probably the most Bondian poster of the Craig era aside from the CR teaser poster.

The best promotional image for a Bond film since the Dalton era.

Pure trash.

If the Craig-era posters get any more stripped down they'll have to feature him in the nude. Where are the big, bold, colorful, evocative, imaginative movie posters of, well, any of the previous Bond actors? It's not a coincidence that I haven't purchased any Bond movie poster since TWINE (when I collected both the U.S. and International one-sheets). The minimalist trend that started with the American one-sheet for DAD continues unabated.

I weep for what this great franchise once was 😢

Here's a reminder of what a great Bond poster looks like:

That's one of the worst posters I've ever seen. Cheap, tacky, badly composed, Photoshop trash. Looks like a porno parody.

I like that one. Much more exciting than the Craig ones. Though it's definitely not the best example of a Bond poster.

This, perhaps, or any of the 60s ones:

The DIE ANOTHER DAY poster is a piece of shit.

This one that FieldsMan posted is what a Bond poster should look like. Classic poster art.

I think this is minimalist approach DONE RIGHT. A real photo of Craig with an Astin Martin and London in the backround without photoshop. Simple, but very Bondian.

I like it, but I think it might be a little too minimalist. It looks like a magazine ad more than a film poster. It's almost as if they've been a little too conservative, unwilling to show the gun or the car or the city too prominently. It's missing something.

Pretty decent promo poster. Better than the character posters or the one where Cregg is on his back substituting his willy with a PPK.

I'm with Fields though, TLD's poster is da bomb. Time to go back to the days of colour and style.

Agreed. Considering all of the trash we've been given since 1997, as far as posters go, this new black and white one is excellent.

Plus, it captures the essence of the franchise. We've got the suit, the Walther, the Aston Martin, and London in the background. Only thing missing is a cigarette.

I have a feeling Bond's gonna spark up at least once during Skyfall. Can't enjoy death without a few cigarettes.

Really digging this poster. Like jet set willy was saying, it sorta calls back to Lazenby's shoot in London. Got a real '60s vibe to it.

I believe the BBFC did hand down its rating because the film contained some smoking. However, I don't think it will be Bond who smokes.

QUANTUM OF SOLACE got a similar rating to SKYFALL because it contained smoking. However, in the final cut of the film, it is Felix Leiter who smokes - he has a cigar when he meets Bond in the bar in La Paz, though he never actually draws on it.

Assuming that the film contained as much smoking as was permitted under the rating it ultimately got, then it's likely that SKYFALL will contain a similar amount. And in what little we have seen of the film, it is Severine who probably going to be the smoker this time around. She has a cigarette in hand when she meets Bond in the casino. Like Leiter, she does not appear to draw on it.

Honestly, I don't see why it is so pivotal that Bond smokes at some point. Nor do I understand why people feel so strongly about it. Sure, Fleming's Bond smoked, but that was never the sole defining aspect of the character, and I don't think the film version of Bond has suffered simply because he doesn't smoke.

Personally, I'm against the idea of Bond smoking, and not because it's politically correct for him to pass on it. I'm against smoking because I think it's a disgusting habit - when I was at university, I lived in a residential college for a while, and one year there was a group of heavy smokers that lived downstairs from me. I was frequently woken up in the middle of the night by half a dozen people with a wet, hacking cough, and by the end of the year, my room smelt of stale cigarette smoke and I had to burn half my clothes because the smoke would drift upstairs (no matter how many times I told them to move it).

I too am against Bond smoking. He should be focused on more moral endeavours such as mowing people down with machine guns.

I don't recall any instances of that since Bond mowed down half the Russian Army to save Natalya from Ourumov in GOLDENEYE.

No, actually, GOLDENEYE is the Bond film with the highest bodycount, and also the film with the most kills by Bond. Yes, he storms Carver's stealth ship with a machine gun, shoots up most of Colonel Moon's base with one and has an extended firefight with Renard's men in the missile silo, but you specifically said "mowing down people with machine guns", and the only time he really does it is in GOLDENEYE.

If you wanna get technical, he was mowing people down with an assault rifle.

Chillax and have a cigarette.
