Having read the review of her latest concert in Antwerp, the take-away seemed to be -yet again - that she is an occasionally brilliant yet uneven performer. How can this still be her issue, in the seventh year of her career?

Combination of production (layering of vocals in the studio will never be able to be replicable on stage - Florence and the Machine has the same problem) combined with the fact she's just flat out bonkers, probably.

Lizzy did it better, possibly because she understood delegation.

Still like Summertime Sadness.
I don't care if she whored her way to success.
Her libtardness is a bother though.
My favourite cd by her is a Russian-press digipack which might very well be a bootleg but still very well done.

Thanks for that mate, I think I'd given it a listen a while ago. Far superior version of Yayo on that one.
Her Lizzy and early Lana stuff (when she was workshopping the persona) is still some of her most interesting work imo - certainly compared to her last two albums.
The fourth album is a bit of a snooze. For all the talk about her going back to Born To Die it isn't nearly as slick, nor is it as earthy cool as Ultraviolence - both of which still hold up (Ultraviolence not quite as well as Born to Die)
Fingers crossed her next one offers something a bit fresh.

I think Jezebel even was angry when Ryan Adams made an album of Taylor Swift covers. I believe they called it the "mansplaining of Taylor Swift".
