| Will we see another one? Do we need to see it again?
I suppose Q Branch could always fit another with gadgets for the Service's best agent. I don't think that should happen, though. I think the DB5 being demolished in SKYFALL was a good way of pointing out that the series is moving forward and some things need to be left in the past. |

| I'd rather see a new car, and something other than an Aston for a change. Something other than silver or black would be nice too. |

Get Bond a Bently as his personal car. Don't use any Aston Martin brand car for a long time. Heck don't go back to BMW. Maybe they can return the Lotus, or better yet an entirely different car to hit home that this is the 21st century. And I agree the DB5 shouldn't make another appearance for awhile. It was fun seeing it again in CR and even better in SF, but the series should definitely move away from old icons and make new ones for their own. The DB5 has been shown four times since GE, almost five if TWINE didn't cut its scene with Bond driving it to Scotland MI6. |

| Maybe Bond gets the Bentley from Q Branch with the DB5 in the background undergoing refitting. BMW was a waste of time, GE and TWINE especially. |

They were better than the sedan used in TND. |

| Seems to me that the DB5's appearance in SKYFALL should be its last in the franchise. Yes, it's iconic, but after its debut in GF, SKYFALL was easily the most effective use of the car in the entire series and was a perfect sendoff for the vehicle. |

| Skyfall was a good high-point to send off the DB5. The audience heartily applauded when Bond opened up his garage to reveal the DB5.
Though I wouldn't be surprised if it came back for the homage-laden 60th anniversary film. Or hell, maybe even B24 (50th anniversary of Goldfinger).

| I think it's over with now ... it was given a suitably heroic send-off in Skyfall, as Brown says a point was being made about how some things need to move on. Am wondering if Bond 24 will see Aston Martin continue to be the marque of choice. |

| He might as well, since the modern Lotuses look appalling. |

Maybe that's why it was destroyed in SKYFALL - to pave the way for a new car. If, in an alternate timeline, Bond had switched to a new car in BOND 24 and the Aston hadn't been destroyed, the shrieks of fanboys could be heard from this reality. |

| Well I want the DB5 to be in a Bond film again. Call me old fashioned. |

| How would you explain its presence in future films, then, given that it was totally destroyed? |

| They're not exactly common.
Besides, it would feel cheap to simply buy a new DB5 after the old one was destroyed. It would feel like the series couldn't move on from its "traditional" elements. |

| Not necessarily. It's unknown whether the DB5 in CR is the same as the one in SF or the same as the one in GF. |

They idea that they are different cars - with no evidence to suggest that they are - is ridiculous. - CJB wrote:

I can't imagine why they would. |

| Purvis & Wade said it was originally supposed to be just the car from CR before Mendes decided to give it a custom job. The idea of Bond having spent some of those years between QOS and SF getting his personal car tricked out seems funny to me. |

| Not as odd as his somehow acquiring a second car of exactly the same model just to get it tricked out. |

Exactly. I interpreted the destruction of the DB5 to be not only a literal but a symbolic moment, as well. |

| By the way, are we all talking about the same franchise that has never really taken continuity seriously over the last fifty years? |
