Read the first 11 pages. Terrible, listless writing, but a tiny bit better than what we eventually got.

I haven't read any of the 1st guy's drafts yet, but somebody summarized the thing on AICN, and it sounds tons better than what we got. Better motivation for the old guy (failed to terraform Mars, figures engineers know a thing or two about such stuff) and they go to Reticuli and LV426.
I think Scott's idea to distance it from ALIEN is what gave Lindelof the 'in' to take it far afield.

The script is a bit dull. Could have used someone who really knew something about dialogue to give a polish.
But as far as the plot goes, it all hangs together much better than the finished film.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe... Penis monsters eating people's faces... I watched Charlize Theron killed because she wanted to do the only sensible thing and warn earth. All these moments will be lost in time, because I'm selling my PROMETHEUS Blu-ray to Half-Price books and never watching it again so long as I live.

They just shoved their space cock down it's throat and laid eggs of reason. Watch them hatch.
