I'm not too keen on having authorities dictate the pace on what goes on in a Bond film in exchange for (lucrative) tax incentives. |

Yes. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/spectre-james-bond-film-reportedly-781497 But I don't really have a problem with it. These sorts of concessions get made all the time when putting a movie together. None of the changes mentioned impact the storyline (because the story already sucks badly); they are cosmetic changes. Only problem I have is with the casting of Stephanie Sigman (nowhere near hot enough to be a Bond Girl, but in a universe where Naomi Harris qualifies as a Bond Girl, I guess Sigman rates an opportunity). Wonder who Sigman blew to get this role? And besides, you can't blame Mexico for wanting to look good. EON screwed Mexico so badly last time they filmed there that it's put Mexico in the position of paying EON to get it right this time. The Floating Gardens of Xochimilco, south of Mexico City, would make for an interesting action sequence. Mexico: come for the natural beauty. Stay because you've been kidnapped. |

| From an acting POV, I wonder if Sigman's character was written in especially for the $20m? If not, I wonder how many actors of different nationalities sweated over the audition, only to lose out for a financing deal that was recently put into place.
If her character was written in especially for the $20m, that's fine - another Bond girl in a Bond film isn't a bad idea. Especially after Brosnan's 3 girl rule, and Moore's seeming 4 girl rule in the 80s. |

| From the Mexican conference with Wilson and Sigman, the producer offers some light on the Mexican money.
http://www.mi6-hq.com/sections/articles/bond-24-mexico-press-conference-sigman-wilson?t=&s=&id=03868
More interestingly, Wilson seems to have said something we've all wanted to hear. Bond films aren't political - they're entertainment. |

I suspect that the PTS will be something that could really happen anywhere, so EON decided to try and find somewhere interesting and the Mexicans got on-board. They tried the same thing with the SF pre-titles, which were originally going to be in India, but when the Indians tried to dictate what happened, EON went elsewhere and found Istanbul. So I think that the Mexicans will be aware of this and won't try to exert influence over the film unless they strongly object to the way something is presented. |

| If it is a $20 million advert for Mexico, then going by these shots from on location, it's going to be $20 million well-spent. The Mayor of Mexico City claimed that production had also considered Singapore and New York City as the location for the pre-titles, but I don't think that either of them have anything as evocative as this:

| Very nice! Now I'm wondering if skulls will play a part in the titles sequence as well. Shaping up really nicely though! |

| I imagine that it might to start with, but would gradually change. The title sequence tends to reflect the themes of the film, so I doubt that it will rely entirely on the skull motif. I am guessing that we might see something along the lines of negative space, with the SPECTRE octopus appearing in the background. And according to CBn, - Spoiler:
The gunbarrel is back at the start of the film, and opens up on a skull.

| The PTS is apparently the biggest ever, according to Michael G. Wilson.

| From what I've seen in the BTS vids and pics though, I'm not sure it will be… But if it is, great! |

Have the BTS vids included the helicopter? Hope Mexico pays off. Skyfall earned a shade under US$10m there...less than 1% of the world Box Office. |

| No, but we've kind of seen that in Tomorrow Never Dies… Well that was my mental image of it…
But I have loved the Junkanoo and the Rio street party, so to open with something like that would be great! |
