| I've just got a new contract so I'm in a generous mood.
Spectre gets a three. |

| Credit to the filmmakers for attempting to make what they thought the fans wanted to see. However, it's pretty awful. Three. |

| I'm hoping to see the film Thursday. My optimism has eroded so I'll watch it with my hands over my face. |

| I hope at least some of the rest of you enjoy it. Can't decide right now whether I'm misguided and easily pleased, or just not a ENTIRELY miserable bastard. |

| Solid nine for me. Okay, would only be an eight, mayhap eight-and-a-half. But it's easily better than some make it out to be. Masterpieces are few and Bond films are seldom to be found in that region. For me Skyfall wasn't one - imagine, in spite of being a writer; sacrilege and blasphemy! - neither is Spectre. But it's definitely not a dud, chances are you will be more entertained in parts by Spectre than you were by Skyfall. |

| The criticism leaves me puzzled in that many of us seemed keen to see a more traditional Bond film..... not yet another entry steeped in the wallowing pretension and self conciousness of the last 3. Much as I loved Skayfall it really was, for me, a case of finally getting the job done that the preceding 4 films wholly failed to do. As of now I am debating whether to venture to the cinema (it doesnt take much to put me off these days) or just wait on the Blu-ray, but it was a good old fashioned Bond that I really was missing and hoped we'd see this time....is it or is it not? |

| I'd say it's easily Craig's most traditional, Bond least-personally-affected-by-the-narrative of his four yet lachesis. Easily. |

Yes, definitely! - lachesis wrote:

By all means, go to the cinema and see it. There are many different kinds of fans, some love their Bond and some love to hate the flicks, all in the day's work. There's no telling how much you will like Spectre, but if you don't primarily need it as a means to nurse your own expectations or polish your profile I'd wager there's a good chance you're going to enjoy it as one of the better Bonds. |

| The general consensus from the media reviews seem to be that if you like traditional/formulaic Bond then you're in luck, but if you want the highs of SKYFALL then it's a disappointment. |

That's a fair assessment: Spectre's a middling Bond film. However, given its obscene cost and the talents involved it should have been far better. Still, fools, sheep and the blind won't notice. |

So, if I love it, which am I? Someone with different tastes to me. If this religion can accommodate Connery, Moore, Dalton, Brozza and Craig it must be Universalist. Not Lazenby, though. Sorry, Hilly ... |
