I take it more that Mendes is inspired by the books than TWINE, though I can get the confusion because part of TWINE wanted to go that direction.

Attack on MI6, personally vendetta against M, Bond takes a hit in the PTS, a French Bond girl terrified of villain, etc.

People were literally saying the exact same shit about SKYFALL before it came out, that it was going to be like TWINE 2.
The TWINE template isn't exactly a bad one. How Mendes chooses to execute it is what matters. If he does it with the same finesse and restraint as he did with SKYFALL, then I think we'll be just fine.

Consider me bored. I have seen nothing in SPECTRE yet remotely exciting, apart from Monica Belluci. Strong feeling of Deja Vu, that Babs is just remaking the same films again and again, and that CR was a fluke, a good movie by mistake.

Honestly I don't think it looks incredible visually. It's definitely competent (Hoytema certainly knows what he's doing) but that blue/orange warmth it has going on just screams "another summer blockbuster" to me.
I'll wait for more footage before I continue to bitch. That being said, it's looking promising and I'm excited.

I see what you mean, but I think the 'summer blockbuster' that you describe has a much more digital/saturated look, whereas this looks much more ambient, softer and cinematic.
