I usually don't have much time for superhero shows, but I will probably check this out.
Especially after reading this: http://newmediarockstars.com/2015/09/jessica-jones-is-she-too-x-rated-for-netflix/
Quote :
This scene is about a woman who has found herself so depressed and emotionally numb that she’s got drunk and told her friend Luke that he could do anything he wanted to her (yeah, even butt stuff) just so she could feel something. It doesn’t matter what. Pain. Humility. Anger. Just feelings.
And again, that’s issue ONE. Now, the Marvel CINEMATIC Universe has definitely not been into sex scenes at all thus far, but the sex scenes in Alias aren’t even traditional sex scenes. Each one has is exposing something dark about the character and tells us a lot about her psychological state. That seems even harder to imagine in an MCU property.
I'm not sure if an attempt at "adult" Marvel can even work, but I'm willing to find out.

They just tried that with DAREDEVIL having a approach not too different from DREDD with the ultra violence. Marvel's strategy seems to be that they'll put out shows aimed at adults on Netflix, whereas the other family friendly shows will remain on a major network like ABC.

I'll be watching it...in the comic (that almost got banned by the printer), her pal Luke Cage helps her get over her bad day...by having anal sex with her. (it was the Marvel adult-line, published under the MAX imprint). The comic which features her is called Alias...not to be confused with the tv show Alias. I think it's why they're calling the show Jessica Jones instead of the comic title.

It's not bad, just the strokes are all too broad.
A teenflick about women surviving in a cruel world ruled by men could be interesting, but it's skindeep. The noir touches aren't subtle either.
I do like Robin Weigert. She elevates everything in which she appears.
I had no idea she was in this, great news. :)

A Facebook friend posted that after having watched the first episode she was contemplating removing anything vaguely connected to David Tennant from her flat, and then watching Pingu for the remainder of the afternoon whilst cuddling one of her pet bunnies.
From that, I'm presuming his character is a very nasty piece of work.

I have watched a couple of episodes. It's neither truly bad nor great, which is a disappointment in its own right. I think the cast is largely fine. The most disappointing aspect are the neo-noir touches, which lack all subtlety. By far the most intriguing aspect of the plot is Kilgrave, specifically his power, but what they are using it for is a bit odd. Why would someone so powerful spend his time obsessing over one woman?

You should try Daredevil instead...it's good and not just your regularly scheduled superhero crap.

I'm now at episode 6. I'm sorry to say I like it less with each new episode I watch. Though the nadir so far was the scene with the couple at the end of episode 4. Terrible all around, both in terms of the writing and the acting.
The thematic choices bother me less than the execution. I think I would be more interested in a show about a female P.I. juggling PTSD that did not have the superhero aspect. Or a neo-noir that actually tried to earn that categorization.

That is another thing I noticed, Kilgrave becomes less interesting a villain the more about him is revealed.

I have watched all 13 episodes now.
I had to convince myself to watch the final three, by that point I had grown quite tired of the series.
It wasn't great. On top of the many issues it was also at least three episodes too long.
Even Tennant's performance has become stale by the end.
The Kilgrave character had the potential to be far more interesting than they made him.
It's an insult to cast Robin Weigert and then use her so sparingly and stupidly.
