| Harrison Ford is returning for the fifth Indiana Jones film, slated for July 19, 2019.

Was kind of hoping for Chris Pratt. |

| Not very exciting news, especially after remembering that last piece of shit they churned out. I would have preferred a reboot with someone like Chris Pratt, too.
It'd be like EON hiring Connery or Moore for one last film. Yeah, the idea is fun, but their times as the character are over. Move on.
After the success of BRIDGE OF SPIES, Spielberg should keep his focus on adult dramas. |

| I'm wondering how much running around Harrison Ford's gunna do, and whether he'll play a mentor character like Connery did back in the day. It's a series not to be taken all that seriously, so getting an Oscar-worthy film out of these guys isn't really expected, so getting Harrison Ford back is clearly more of a nostalgic move.
RE: Bridge of Spies... I'm willing to bet Mark Rylance will pop up in a Bond film by B26, if not B25. |

| Indiana Jones will be stabbed by his son (Shia LaBoobs). |

| I guess Karen Allen needed something to do.
In seriousness I don't mind him coming back, Ford, but if a fourth and fifth film had happened in the 90s. A seventy-seven year-old Ford can't be able to do much but who knows. I've not seen the episode of Young Indy Ford did where I believe Indy was 100 but I'm betting that Indy was more able.
Also, I thought Spielberg regretted doing Crystal Skull. Almost like it was Lucas...ooh...Lucas. |

| Crystal Skull left me thinking that the ability to turn in a fun action-adventure had deserted Spielberg, then Tintin made me think maybe it hadn't.
So ... it won't happen, but imagine Indy 5 as a motion-capture animation. Ford could still voice him, but his advanced years wouldn't matter when it came to the action stuff. |

| Yes ... *accidentally*.
Ah well, there are surely worse ways to have your movie denied a 12A classification. |

| I'm sure. I hear having Gilbert Gottfried helps. |

| Good news ladies and gentlemen - no its not a facelift for the Dacia Sandero but IGN is reporting George Lucas has no involvement with Indy 5......... So one concern down at least. Having seen Ford in The Force Awakens I confess I dread what he'll look and more like in another couple of years mind, the passage of time is a real bitch sadly :/

| Well, him stepping back from Star Wars has been nothing but good for that franchise. |

| Just read that the new Indy features an ex-Nazi rocket scientist villain with a henchman named Klaber.
Is anybody getting a MOONRAKER Drax/Krebbs vibe from this? One of the screenwriters is that Butterworth guy who worked on SKYFALL and SPECTRE, which is horrifying enough (NOT a SF fan in the slightest.) |

| I have seen/heard zilch about this next Indy but that certainly sound familiar, trev. I will be interested to see where they go with that setup.
My only thought regarding Indy 5 so far is that it's a shame Spielberg isn't directing. |

| Ford did OK as a gruff ol' timer in 1923.
So did one Tim Dalton, as it happens. |

| Trailer does look good. I'm hopeful. Indy deserves a better final film than Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull. |

It does look good. As long as he is allowed to play Indy as age appropriate and not try to run around too much like a man 20 years younger |

| Am I the only one who was slightly disappointed by the trailer?
There's no doubt I'm seeing this, and am still excited. But there was something about it that made it look a bit...streaming service -y.
Hope I'm way, way off. |

Hope I'm way, way off. It'll probably suck. Top Gun: Maverick was a fluke as far as 'revive old franchise for modern audience' goes. |

| I made the mistake of seeing this. By far the worst film I saw this year.
It's not just a bad Indiana Jones film, it's a bad film full stop. With a woefully miscast Phoebe Waller-Bridge. James Mangold proves he has perhaps 10% of Spielberg's talent in directing action. Also plagued by the faux look that is so common in many contemporary blockbusters. It stands out even more here because we are used to the in-camera/practical effects/massive sets version of the series. Whereas this doesn't look that different from your average superhero movie. So you never feel like there are real stakes for the characters involved.
They should have just let this series alone after the disappointment of Crystal Skull.
This is quite possibly even worse. |
