Spectre opened with $73 million in the U.S. It's currently sitting at $296 million worldwide.
Box Office Mojo is predicting a final domestic cume of $185 million, far short of Skyfall's massive $304 million. Sounds like it will still do just fine internationally, though. |

| I would be surprised if it doesn't make north of $200 domestic, at least on par with CR and QOS. If the CinemaScore is any indicator it's pleasing more audiences than the US critics. However, this is a very competitive season compared to SF, which only had THE HOBBIT if I recall correctly.
But yeah, it'll do much better internationally. Bond has always seem to be far more popular overseas than in the US. |

| The real indicator will come this weekend. If it grosses low 30s, then that 185m becomes more looming. I'm thinking it can do $200m, but if it doesn't do $250m, I can see more SONY emails flying, and EON and BABS will have some serious thinking as to where they went wrong. |

| Opening don't mean crap. Or Alien 3 was the best success of the franchise. Legs will tell. |

| In the US I think they made a mistake releasing it a week after the UK. I know that's the norm, but it would have opened against no other film. Would have had an extra week to earn it's take before Hunger Games and the death knell of Star Wars during its tail run.
I feel SPECTRE will probably follow QoS and bow out of theaters by early/mid January whereas CR and SF ran in a handful of theaters through March. |

| The US has this strange thing about not wanting to release tentpole projects until November, which is when "Holiday Season" begins according to Box Office Mojo. That and Summer are the most important release dates for studios, whereas everything else seems to be a "dumping ground". Why they didn't think Bond should be able to break big regardless of being released on October 30th? Ask them. |

| Pretty good summary on how much matters about SPECTRE's performance: http://www.forbes.com/sites/scottmendelson/2015/11/12/box-office-spectre-tops-300m-can-the-james-bond-series-recover/ |

When's your 3rd viewing? It's up to an estimated $550m worldwide as of this Sunday. The French opening got fucked. |

| Spectre remains No. 1 in North America, adding $35.4 million its second weekend which ups its domestic total to $130.7 million. While it only dropped 48 percent from last weekend, it still sits $30 million behind where Skyfall sat after two weeks.
Still looking healthy worldwide — as DB said, Spectre's worldwide haul is currently at $543.8 million after taking in $48 million its opening weekend in China, a record for a 2-D "American" production.

Check again...I'm seeing Skyfall at $160m or so in its second Sunday (boxofficemojo) putting it $30m ahead, not $55m. Spectre's first order of business is to get past $195m or Ethan Hunt will point and laugh. |

| I'm thinking it might not get to $200m now in the USA. It will get bragging rights as the 2nd highest Bond take in the USA, but only needs to gross over 169m. But what a fall from 304m. |

| SKYFALL's performance in the US was an amazing fluke, a perfect storm, I always thought the next film would have difficulty trying to match it. The fact that it reached $300m at all was incredible, given how it was much more geared towards adults unlike other tentpole films. SPECTRE doing the same business as Criag's first two films in the US is fine, as what really matters is the international numbers. |

| It will get well past its breakeven point of $650m by tomorrow evening (Sunday). In China it passed Skyfall's 59m haul last Tuesday (after 5 days of release) and should be somewhere in 80s by the end of the weekend.
So we're looking at hauls north of $100m in 3 areas - USA, UK and China. |

Well....to be fair, QoS didn't have the China factor as SPECTRE does...it only grossed about 21m. Cinemas have only become a booming business for films over the past few years. It might get past 800m in the final haul... |

| The China BO atrophied this week by 75%...incidentally, legible bootleg dvd copies with chinese or korean subs leaked out last week too.... |

| Looks like SPECTRE will surpass QOS US Box Office on Saturday to get bragging rights for the #2 Bond in the USA. A consolation in some ways cuz it's way below Skyfall at this point and $200m seems like an uphill struggle now.
I'd like to repeat that torture sequence on Craig and Mendes for that matter. |

I'd like to repeat that torture sequence on Craig and Mendes for that matter. Looks like it will definitely be catching up with ROGUE NATION by this weekend, likely passing the $200m barrier by Christmas, making it only the second Bond film to do that. |

It's losing over 1,000 screens this weekend and will be hard pressed to earn $1.5m.... Not only is Star Wars sucking the air out of the box-office, but will overtake SPECTRE in 2-3 days. |

Not quite ... Spectre's Rotten Tomatoes score is 64%, TFA's is currently 95%. |
