| For the 5 or so people who read this thread...SPECTRE USA inched past $198m a couple days ago. It's looking at about $198.45m at the end of this weekend. That 200m is still far away. |

| Yeah seems that way. Especially with the DVD release in about a month or so. |

| 199.3m in the USA... So close to 200m and yet so far as it's on its last legs now and this weekend won't bring more than 60,000-65,000. |

| Interesting to see the way the Bond's have split their grosses between US and Worldwide, with the US market being less and less a factor in the Craig era than Brosnan....on a US basis & adjusted for inflation Spectre is the lowest earner in the post Cubby era, I suspect the worldwide figures would change that but sadly they don't seem to as readily adjust non-domestic grosses for inflation has anyone done the math? |

| Hmmm interesting that it's earned less than Brosnan's when adjusted to inflation.
I hope this doesn't mean Miccoli think that audiences want CR types Bond films because a more traditional one didn't perform as well…
Going by the second table, I'm pretty happy that TND has done better business - when adjusted to inflation - than CR, QOS and SP.

| 877.5 million is hardly a flop. And the DVD/on-demand release next month will probably add a decent amount to that. |

Not a flop, but then again, there's no buzz for the film either. It was instantly and utterly forgettable. No "water cooler" discussion about the film. Unlike Skyfall...or Casino Royale...I heard no one else talk about the movie after seeing it. I saw it once in the theater, and that may have been the fewest amount of times I've ever seen a Bond film in the cinema since seeing my first one in '83. I don't remember how many times I saw CR or QOS...I know I saw SF at least twice. It had no pop-culture presence. It came, it went, and it got completely shoved aside in the American market by Thanksgiving. It was basically a 2 week-and-done affair. No staying power. |

I heard talk about it from my circle of friends and others at the office...but it wasn't the 'must -go-see' talk, more along the lines of 'not so good.' They raved about The Martian instead, which was good actually. |

They raved about The Martian instead, which was good actually. If you do the math, Skyfall seems like a slight outlier. Maybe, in the end, it simply over-performed expectations. So be it. That means that SPECTurd is right in line with QOS and CR if you do the inflation adjustments. But it still doesn't address the future direction of the series. Where do they go from here? I certainly wouldn't pay Craig $20-25 million dollars to come back. He's not worth it. He's had no significant box office hits outside of 007, and that includes doing a very well respected adaptation of the hit novel 'DRAGON TATTOO'. Outside of Bond he hasn't been the lead in any movie that grossed more than $102 million at the U.S. box office. He needs Bond more than Bond needs him. Craig's usefullness to the series may have played out. |

Craig's usefullness to the series may have played out. What Craig has done outside of Bond means nothing. He's got the biggest Bond film in North America short of two Connery films after adjustment. He deserves to come back if Eon will have him. |

| $199.7 million, and SONY added screens last week.
I won't be surprised if they're trying to scrape up another $300k to claim bragging rights for $200m
Can't believe Deadpool beat SPECTRE in less than 10 days. |

| Well SONY left it running in theaters and it has managed to cross $200m domestically. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=bond24.htm Consolation of sorts I guess. Maybe Gravy went to see it one more time and that $10 helped. |

Consolation of sorts I guess. Maybe Gravy went to see it one more time and that $10 helped. Nope. I never paid for it the first and only time I saw it. When I bought some of the blu-rays that were being re-released at the time, they had coupons to download free tickets to see SPECTRE off of Fandango. Took friend to see it and that was it. So SPECTRE actually got no money from either myself or my friend. However, THE FORCE AWAKENS got my money twice...2nd time in 3D. I'll start financially supporting the Bond series when they start supporting me and giving me my childhood back instead of raping it with garbage like SPECTRE. |

Surely it would have cost them more to keep it going for so long. I'd like another Bond film in the same tone as SP (just with better writing and without the stupid personal twists) so if it crossing the $200m mark means it'll convince Babs and co. that this is what people want, then fine. |
