| I haven't been really impressed with a single car scene in a Craig movie. Ordinary at best, the only bond thing about it is the Aston Martin itself and not the quality of the sequence. The Rome chase in SPECTRE was hyped up and was boring as hell. Just 2 flashy cars going for a night drive. Why so average?
I hate to admit I prefer watching F & F movies for the car fix and also admitting that other franchises are besting Bond when it should be the other war round. |

| Haven't seen a F&F film since Tokyo Drift, but seen clips from trailers and stuff and they seem ridiculously OTT.
I really dig the QOS car chase, even if it isn't one of my favourites. The SP car chase seems to counter the quick cuts of the QOS chase with lots of wide angle shots which usually I'd prefer, but the scene itself - like most of the Craig era, seems embarrassed to be a Bond film that the car sequence didn't exploit or commit to being a James Bond car chase. Even having a few more cars on the road would have added a little more danger.
But I see what you're saying re: the Craig era car chases. GF, TSWLM, OHMSS, TLD, FYEO, LTK and TND all have superior car chases. |

| QoS car chase could have been good had it not been for the editing. If we had got some longer shots to establish some geography I would have enjoyed it more.
SPECTRE was, as you said, not committed. Just two cars on an evening stroll through the city. One of my favorite chases is still Goldfinger where they are winding in and out of the buildings before Bond crashes. |

SOMETHING SOMETHING

Anyway, I don't think Craig has had a good car chase. Even Brosnan vs. Sparkly Baldie With The Most American Accent In North Korea: ON ICE was better than anything we've seen since. |

| For me a great car chase needs traffic and normal roads.....Bond too often surrenders to a gimmick leaving the chase less about vehicular skill and more just a bit of sight seeing. I recently cauight up with 'The Seven Ups' which has a great chase....that's the kind I'd like to see in Bond, the FF franchise is just a little too glossy (or posed) and OTT in its action for my taste. |

AVTAK: taxi cab getting sheared in half not once, but twice.....later fire engine chase through streets of San Francisco. TLD: one of the better car chases; grounded, but still had a few surprises. Didn't drift into the totally fantastical like DAD. Speaking of which... DAD: loved the car chase between Zao and Bond. Would've been cooler if Jinx had a car and the two of them ganged up on Zao. Hover craft chase better than any vehicle chase in Craig films. GE: playful chase between Bond and Xenia with light moments of flirting and comedy. None of this can be found in the Craig error era. TNL: Motorcycle/helicopter chase holds up amazingly well 18.5 years later, even if the stunt dummy was a bit too obvious crashing into the building. OP: chase sequence in the little three-wheel taxis between Gobinda and Bond gets top marks; Just the right amount of comedy: "Thank God for hard currency", the look of the beggar when a wad of rupees lands on his plate....the crowd looking back and forth as if they're watching a tennis match.....all just nostalgic reminders of a time long-since passed where the consumer just wanted to entertained, not given political life lessons on the nature of revenge or the psychological profile of an assassin. |

| In the quoted bit I was referring to the car chase in TND. But, the TND bike chase is brilliant, even if the 10 seconds of helicopter slicing through the streets is a bit of a stretch. No chase sequence in Craig's era compares to that. The GE car chase is what the SP plane/snow chase wishes it could be, but decides half way through that it doesn't want to be a Bondian chase sequence anymore. I prefer the OP car chase to the Tuk Tuk chase - the race to the circus is fantastically done. Jinx being involved in the car chase in her own car would have actually been alright I think. |

Just watched that myself on TCM a few days ago. Definitely an enjoyable chase. I hope Bond 25 can deliver. |

| Fast and Furious has gotten more and more ridiculous with each movie. Last one I saw had supercars jumping between skyscrapers in Abu Dhabi.
I have enjoyed every Craig action scene that they have done, and I think that they have choreographed them well, but I wouldnt mind seeing things slowed down a bit in future movies. I feel like Craig has been running nonstop ever since the start of Casino Royale, minus a couple scenes. I miss a lot of the more relaxed scenes in earlier movies. |

| I certainly don't want the F&F team to do the car chases. Going by the trailers, they seem either CGI heavy and grossly unrealistic. Craig's running peaked for CR-QOS, but he's considerably slowed since SF. One of the few redeeming features of SP is that he continued the more gentleman spy of SF and Bond 1-20 as opposed to the energiser bunny of CR and QOS. Side note: Would love to see a ranking KingCobra... Perhaps this thread might be of interest: https://bondandbeyond.forumotion.com/t33p425-rank-all-the-bond-films |

https://bondandbeyond.forumotion.com/t33p425-rank-all-the-bond-films Sounds good, I will check it out. I probably wont post a list until the end of the month. I've watched all the movies plenty of times, but I've never watched them all in chronological order within a short time period like im doing currently. I want to see if any of my ranking change with all of them fresh in my mind to compare. |

I can certainly agree here, oft these days it seems there is no time given to breathe and you almost become numb to the barrage of noise and action tossed at you. A lot of the recent Bonds suffer from action scenes that just don't seem to know when to end, meanwhile the bits in between are garbled exposition that actually deny you the ability to feel involved in the events or the characters. |

| Nah, the FF movies are like a kid playing with Matchbox cars. Doesn't fit with Bond.
I liked the chase in Quantum a lot. |

I liked the chase in Quantum a lot. I quite like the QOS car chase also, but I much prefer the earlier car chases. Seems like a missed opportunity having filmed the chase so frenetically since we don't get a good glimpse of the location. Remy Julienne should have filmed it. |
