Does anyone else want to see the gadgets come back?

I know they wanted to do something different with Casino Royale, and it's one of the best Bond movies, but I would like to see the gadgets come back, as I felt that is what made the movies so unique and was their main staple perhaps.

So why not bring them, or do most fans still do not want this?

I'd like to see the return of gadgets. Not DAD Robosuit style, but GE-TND-TWINE style gadgets, such as rappelling devices, disguised lock picks and fingerprint scanners, etc. 

I think they tried with the exploding watch in SP. A little generic though welcome, as were the ejector seat and flamethrowers in the car chase. The situations surrounding the gadgets were half assed so not as exciting as the preceding films with gadgetry. I also prefer Bond using his watch remotely to detonate a bomb as opposed to having the watch itself packed with explosives.  

As mentioned in another thread, having Bond use his wits to give his Q-branch supplied equipment multiple uses is even better.

We're just not as wowed by them now ... look at what your average smartphone is capable of nowadays.

TND definitely foreshadowed the modern day smartphone, but surely there are more espionage-esque features that can be added to really warrant the term 'smartphone'. 

There's definitely an intelligence/smartphone gag in there somewhere, too.

The trick is making something realistic and novel AND incorporated into the film to make the audience excited for the thing to work.
