I've seen people online discuss that NTTD didn't test very well with audiences and decided to delay to see if they could fix it up in the edit.
You know, it hasn't affected me like it would ordinarily. I'm not disappointed by seeing the film later. When I heard the news, I was more disappointed that it means the delay of Bond 26 and recasting the role.

If he wanted 'deeper not wilder', then the information Stamper posted in the Spoilers thread certainly plays into the latter.

Apologies for the quadruple post, but worth bumping to share. Apparently reshoots will be taking place, too.

Craig himself consequently shot down those 'not done yet' rumours, KKBB.
Given that there's now a delay in the release, it's all the more galling to be stuck with that Eilish theme song.

When it comes to Midnight Edge, I'd take what they says with a mountain worth of salt, and this even goes beyond Bond. They're well known to conflate rumors because that's how they play to their base. I used to follow them because of their stuff on Star Trek, but over time began to realize what they put out there is 90% made up, but their audience eats it up merely because ME tells them what they want to hear, even if it's not true. If they had stuck to facts and not indulged so much in made up gossip they wouldn't have such a following that they do, but that's exactly why they do what they do.
If most of their stuff about Star Trek was true, then the show STAR TREK: DISCOVERY would have been a gigantic flop from the start and wouldn't have just wrapped up its third season.

Hadn't heard of Midnight's Edge before this, but what they state in the video makes sense. Interesting Universal is still releasing their Fast and Furious sequel...

Not really, no. It might be marginally better than Sam Smith's, but that's not saying much. And this is probably 'grumpy-middle-aged-blokeitis', but something about a teen getting the gig irks me greatly.

Ha, fair enough. As I haven't heard it I can't comment on the quality of it. However, I was talking about Tina Turner recently, and a bunch of musicians commented on how she was by far, one of the very best singers. Her age came up. Not realising she was 80, I figured she was 55 when she recorded Goldeneye. It wasn't some up-and-coming artist providing the theme song - it was someone who had longevity in the industry already. Who's talking about Alicia Keys and Jack White these days? Doubtful Sam Smith or Billie Eilish will have the same longevity as the likes of Paul McCartney or Madonna, but time will tell. If they had to go with someone younger, perhaps Harry Styles might have been a good option - he seems to have broken through and might be around for the long haul.

I heard the movie was put on hold (it was actually mentioned at a Fox News townhall meeting with the POTUS)...not a knee-jerk reaction by any means....cinemas will start getting closed all over Europe soon and it's very likely some US States will take similar steps as well. No point releasing it, if the pirates get a HD print, it's BO potential is over.

Exactly. Tina Turner singing a track written by half of U2 is exactly the sort of pedigree Bond deserves and should be attracting still, IMHO.

Well........
‘Fast & Furious 9’ Release Pushed Back a Year Due to Coronavirus
And A QUIET PLACE II has been delayed with no new release date.
So yeah, sounds like Midnight’s Edge is full of shit as usual. Maybe they'll claim all these films got delayed because they were received poorly by test audiences over how "woke" they were.

Aaaaannnd even more announcements of delays: ‘Mulan,’ ‘New Mutants’ Release Delayed in Wake of Coronavirus
It's too bad, if they had done poorly at the box office they could have just used the Corona virus as a scapegoat.

There's too much riding on the slate for each respective company to put them out there and not get decent returns. B25 most of all.
However I would totally see that there could be issues behind the scenes and discussion of reworking things. 160mins is ridiculous and proof that there's something wrong in the pudding somewhere. If anything they could use the extra time to really perfect the picture...it's like getting a six month grace period.

I don't really believe it had a test viewing that got thumbs down.
Which scenes caused that? There is zero discussion about it. Just a lot of speculation.
And even if there were reshoots, how would they be done? A lot of filming has been put on hold everywhere.

That's true.
Better chance of seeing NTTD for what they originally signed off on.

Another thing that debunks the rumor of bad test screenings is that tickets were already on sale. Typically if a test screening turned out so poor that the studio felt it was necessary for reshoots they would then proceed to work on such a task before they would ever put tickets on sale.
Whatever you feel of EON, they do deserve to be commended for seeing where the wind was blowing before anyone else noticed and took action. Had they hesitated, another studio might have taken the November slot, and NTTD might have had to take the April 2021 slot that F9 currently has. It could be for the better, as November releases has always been extremely reliable for EON from the past 25 years since GE.
Currently BLACK WIDOW is still slated for May 2020, with no news of delay. Perhaps Disney sees it as expendable? Seems fitting for a secret agent. Of course, they're in a more preferable position than MGM currently is as a studio. They can afford a bomb, while MGM can't.

I guess what makes it easier to believe is the fact that - I feel - the script has flimsy roots so all the past bumps the production has faced was expected... This could have just been another one.
Still could be. We'll know by November.

Now BLACK WIDOW has been postponed with no new date set.
Of course, given that so many cinemas have either shut down or limited attendance by 50%, it seemed inevitable.
