| I finally watched Legend last night.
I am not sure what it wants to be?
A Fable like The Princess Bride?
A Fantasy Adventure like Conan or Lord of the Rings?
The movie suffers from an identity crisis and I can't help thinking there is more of it that was scripted that didn't get filmed.
I watched the 114 min Director's Cut!
2.5/5
Avoid Book of Eli.
I went into the theater with high expectations and it was good until 1/4 way when it was revealed it's another movie about Religion!! |

| Up In The Air I recommend.
I can't say the same about Midnight in Paris but that's because I am not a Woody Allen fan!
The last Woody Allen films I've watched were Mighty Aphrodite and then nothing for 10 years until Match Point;
but that's only because Scarlett Johansson was in it.
I haven't watched another Woody Allen film ever since then. |

Both are overrated. MIDNIGHT IN PARIS is borderline trash. UP IN THE AIR is simply trash. I forget if either of them include tits, too. That'll tell you something. Watch ZELIG instead. |

Watch ZELIG instead. Well, I ended up watching Midnight In Paris last night - I thought it couldn't be that bad if it won best screenplay. I wanted to like it more than I did. Performances were pretty good except for Owen Wilson - which is a shame because I think he was intended to be the glue to it all. Cotillard is again, probably the best thing about the film, along with the score and the cinematography. Some characters were excellently written, such as Paul, but some were two-dimensional, such as Gil's wife. 7.5/10 By the by, wasn't Fitzgerald supposed to be reclusive? Didn't get that vibe from the film... |

| I watched it yesterday. It's not bad, but I don't see what the hoopla is about.
And FFS can Hollywood please give the uber-fast editing a rest? If your action scenes don't suck, then there's no reason to give the audience seizures to distract them. |

Haven't seen it, but I can't imagine why it wouldn't be worth checking out. I'd love to give it a go myself, although it's one of those films that I imagine isn't available on DVD over here. |

that's a good movie if you are an 80's child like I am and a fan of Diane Lane it has a cast of stars from when they were young: Nicolas Cage, Vincent Spano, Mickey Rourke, Matt Dillon, Lawrence Fishburne, Chris Penn, Dennis Hopper |

no, Hilly, don't go there...but...no... I am an 80s child. I was in front of the TV when MTV signed on in 1981. Graduated from H.S. in the early 80s. First to have a VHS in 1981 when no one could afford to have a VHS. First to have a home PC in 1980 when the word PC was not even a common household name. First to have home internet when people still got their daily news printed on paper with ink. Grew up with MTV and the 80s movies and music which influenced a lot of what you saw and hear in the 90s, 2000s and til now. Without the 80s, you wouldn't have the Cell Phone and iPod and the GPS and other technologies you kids all take for granted today; many of that technology is available to the public today because President Ronald Reagan's multi-trillion dollars defense budget including your home satellite that you use to watch your stupid reality shows. Without Reagan we would not have won the Cold War and both Iraq Wars So be nice to the 80s!! |

I just got done with it and it's certainly unique. I liked it a lot, but I'm sure that even if you don't it won't be because of disinterest or boredom. I'd say it's worth seeing for sure. |

| Crimes of Passion is one of the most hyped, over-rated, disappointing "Skin" films of the 80s [along with Body Double].
Unless you are a hardcore Ken Russell fan, I would stay away from it. |
