:affraid:

laugh I love the use of epic music playing over wedding invitations. It looks a lot like how Devin described it: http://www.chud.com/21684/the-devins-advocate-why-breaking-dawn-must-be-made-into-a-movie/

Well done Pattinson, your scam was a success and now you can retire with all the benjamins you got from the tween crowd. I salute.

Well done Kristin, you can now go back home and smoke as much pot as you want. You're set for life. Bravo.

I'm wondering why a book that mostly (from what I've heard) consists of a wedding, vacation, a lot of hard sex, and a vampire C section requires 2 movies to be retold. Also wondering if Summit will create new material in order to continue milking the franchise. I still propose the Sparkles/Wolf Boy buddy cop movie.

I've got no problem with the teenage "peak of life" bit (its one of the great attributes of REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE), but all thse pregancies and weddings and things... I thought the premise was he was some hundred years old vampire who still went to highschool? Has he finally aged a bit?

Well Edward is over 100 and Bella has just graduated, Colly.

So technically no.

But fucking hell that looks hilarious .... they did not need to split it into two parts - unless they are going to dramatically change the last film from the original ending ... which was worse than the entire series.

Because I imagine it would be like that Simpsons espiode - "Cape Feare", I think - where Sideshow Bob keeps stepping on rakes that smack him in the face. It starts out funny, then goes on for so long that the joke gets tired, but keeps on going to the point where it becomes funny again.

or everytime Wolf boy takes off his shirt.

I haven't watched the last two or three installments(I can't remember) mainly because there wasn't enough wolf-action in the trailers to peak my interest. If there is a reasonable amount of wolf action I will watch, especilly if the wolfs are shredding sparkly, lame vampires.

Finished it.

*sigh*

Well, it's well directed. Catherine Hardwicke does know how to put together a film about teenage angst and that sorta thing, but that can only take her as far as everything else in the flick can let her. I don't believe in the romance. I'd believe that someone put a love potion Bella so that's why she's all hot for the creepy vampire kid. Best part of the whole flick is when Pattinson ripped that bad vamp's neck off, but we only get a glimpse cause this is PG-13.

Christ, four more to go.

Enjoy the second one. I've seen #'s 2 and 3. Three is the one with the heavy wolf action. It wasn't bad but I've now sworn off any further exposure to this mess. I can't count on the wolfs taking as much screen time as I need them to.

#2Two was pure tedium at least in the early goingThe first half hour is coma inducing. Its pretty much all KStew brooding in the woods,or a field, or both. Anyway she broods for a long long time. Memories are hazy. Not sure I was completely awake.

Finished the second one.

Okay, so the first flick was directed by Catherine Hardwicke, who was at least competent at making a flick centered around teens. She couldn't save the script, but I'll give her credit bringing the style she used in THIRTEEN for teen/fantasy/soap, it gave it a bit of a novelty in some way. She turned down this one, thus we got a hack of a filmmaker Paul Weitz. The drama is now cranked up to an absurd level, it feels self important, the running time is 30 mins longer, it's basically treated like some great epic. In a way it makes it more entertaining than the first but in a bad way. laugh Michael Sheen hams it up too, honestly I can't blame him trying to make the most out of this.

Gotta say, I just wanna escape ECLIPSE. At least BREAKING DAWN sounds like retarded fun with Kristen Stewart "acting" that her fetus is snapping her spine.

Having watched all four its quite an amazing achievement - it starts bad and goes down hill pretty quickly from there. The second actually has a decent score from Alexander Desplat, but is otherwise dreadful, the third has some action threatened but you really just wish everyone was dead so no tension whatsoever, the fourth is just excruciatingly bad and probably inspires violence toward the pretty but awful Ms Stewart.

However I have to concede that watching the first film again with a rifftrax featuring the MST3K refugees - Mike Nelson, Bill Corbett and Kevin Murphy - makes it one of the funniest movies I have experienced, so I guess one day they will all be good for something..."no one forkes with the chief of police!"

I suspect the first book is just like the others, but for the film adaptation Hardwicke toned it down and approached the story from the perspective of an adult watching teenagers, like the stupid decisions we make at that age to the really awkward conversations because its the first time they ever experienced these feelings. Teen romance in reality is just awkward around that time of life and I respect that she tried injecting a little reality into this teen fantasy to make it seem more genuine. The script still blows chunks, but I appreciate Hardwicke's attempt. Seeing the second flick, I don't think she would have been able to use the same approach used in the first because the second veers off on the opposite direction from her, so I can see why she bowed out. Reading Wikipedia, Paul Weitz talked about his approach being more true to the source and "not taking it lightly" and as a result it feels more like a film from the perspective of a narrow minded teenager, thus everything is heavy handed and it doesn't help that the source is probably a lot worse with the protagonist being such a huge insult to female teens.
