Previous Debate: Are the current team paving the way for a gay Bond?

It's interesting that the writers added that bit of dialogue.

Sure, to any Bond fan, it'd be easy to spot that as a nod to CASINO ROYALE. However, to the average theater goer, or even a person seeing a Bond film for the first time, they'd go ahead and think Bond is bisexual, or that he was hinting at some past homosexual relationship.

However, I think that SKYFALL is for Bond fans, first and foremost. A lot of the material in the film reference the Bond films of the past. For example, you wouldn't pick up on the Aston Martin humor if you didn't see GOLDFINGER. I don't think they're paving the way for a gay Bond. Not yet, at least.

Bond boarded at Eton. Odds are he dabbled.

It would be fun to see Craig's Bond "play the part" trying to seduce a man, then right after he grabs a key or object from the man's pocket, he slaps him, walks away and quips to gawkers "not my type".

I feel like we need to see Craig really loosen up in the role and have fun, and having something like that would be a nice change of pace after both QOS and even SF to a lesser extent were pretty brooding pieces.

Of course the way is being paved!

After all, in Skyfall,  in response to M's dying quip about 'making a run for it' didn't Bond say:

"I'm gay if you are?"

It's right there, along with proof positive that Silva was M's son, and strong evidence that Bond is too.

I don't see why this is still being discussed....
