Had to be done, World Cup right around the corner and all that.....
Can see Diego Milito turning up in a good few dream teams after that very well taken double in the CL final tonight. Him, Tevez and Messi will be awesome to watch together if Milito's afforded a starting place with those two that is.

The McDonald's and FIFA fantasy WC is taking registrations now Laz, with the comp open from the 4th. Let me know if you're setting a league up there and I'll do likewise.

Reviving this thread on a poor night for British clubs - Man City, Rangers and Liverpool (yet another goaless Liverpool game on channel 5 ) all out of the Europa league. Young winger Gregg Wylde looks like a very good prospect for Rangers for the near future, in an otherwise dull match against PSV.

Didn't expect Liverpool to go out but still, it made my night.

If I recall Pompey lost their UEFA Cup games when not on Five. Then again they showed two of the...what, five games.
Man City, typical. Liverpool, etc. I guess Man City in particular will try to go all out to keep their CL place.

I'm not a fan of Man City, they look average at best without the likes of David Silva stringing things together. Grinding out 1-0 wins in the Prem is hardly impressive for a team of players of such a high calibre.

it might come together for them next season. I've now placed the Hilly jinx upon them. Much like I did back ages ago when they were my PL team to follow.

That's because money does not buy you success. The reason why Chelsea were successful was mainly due to Mourinho and even then they failed to win the Champions League. I'm not sure whether Mancini has the man management skills to achieve that.

Another fairly lacklustre performance from England against Wales. Sure, there was plenty of effort for once but Capello needs to inject some life into the team. e.g call up Micah Richards, Gary Hooper and Scott Sinclair ASAP.

Cracking match tonight between England and Ghana. Great performance from both teams. Proof that England can play well (and dare I say, better) without the likes of Gerrard, Lampard, Terry and Rooney. My mate's half Ghanaian and said he'd watch the match fron "a neutral perspective", but I bet he was up celebrating Gyan's equaliser right at the end. :)

Rocha sent off, Pompey lose, zut alors.
Result of the day outside the top flight might just be Crewe's 8-1 demolition of Cheltenham with two players grabbing hat-tricks.

Same happened for Norwich today with a 6-0 trouncing of Scunthorpe - super Grant Holt and Simeon Jackson with the goals. New loanee Dani Pacheco did the business, hell of a talent.
Sympathetic for the Hammers. Was hoping for a United slip-up.

too much to hope for a slip-up though rooting for it out of a liking for Grant.
I saw Jackson was on for a hat-trick but missed the goal. Looking good for the Canaries and miserable for Scunny.

That's a very comprehensive and cultured list there, Krilencu. Nice to see some love for Valencia.
Whilst Norwich will always be the only club I ever support, as long as they remain in existence that is, I keep an eye out for Tottenham Hotspur, St.Pauli, Bath City, Bury Town (my father's home town and I have many relatives there) and Notts County fixtures and results. Not exactly powerhouses of European football, but clubs I greatly admire for their fanbases, sporting and fair attitudes towards the game and, in St.Pauli's case, political aspects of football (anti-racism, anti-commercialisation etc.)

I've always lacked looking at results for some teams, just for something to do in a way. So beyond Portsmouth there's Wycombe, Morecambe, AFC Wimbledon and Weymouth.
Though sometimes teams gone into admin and points deducted just to see if they can't get out of it, some misplaced guidance. Plymouth this season or Phoenix clubs like Chester FC (Northern League), FC Halifax and Scarborough Athletic just the league tables though. Should probably add Havant & Waterlooville considering they very nearly became my no.1 club during the summer.

Forgot to add, I have upmost respect for FC United Of Manchester too.
There are plenty of good YouTube channels to keep up to date with those sorts of clubs, Hilly. :)

they've not done too shabbily this season. FA Cup success (second round, one FL team down and one held to a replay), coming from near relegation candidates to play-off. Keep it up and they could be in the conference in a couple of years.
Metropolitan Police FC of the Ryman League South gets a mention for name alone.

Thanks, mate. I sympathize with every European country so I have a favourite team in almost every respectable European competitions. Nice to see you supporting some non-conventional teams as well.

Expected draw with PNE yesterday. Result of the weekend perhaps Scunny's demolition of QPR. Good to see the Dons keep it up, Weymouth winning to try to avoid a third successive relegation and yet...yet, Crawley got promoted.

Disappointing 3-0 loss to Swansea for Norwich on Saturday. Hope they can bounce back for this very important remainder of the season.

Curses, Pompey crushed 3-0 by Coventry with yet another player sent off. We're safe which is against most fears, Brighton are up (one favourable derby) and Scum lost to Rochdale.
