Puts the Tevez affair into perspective.
Sharpe was very brave (and it was right that the ref didn't book him for his goal celebration). Disappointed Doncaster didn't get the win, Sharpe deserved it.

Bloody hell Steve Claridge scored again.
Alright it's Gosport Borough (Pompey's Southern League South & West neighbours) and it was the FA Trophy but the man's 45 and that's 3 in 4 games.
I understand we're trying to sign him. He's got a proper rate per game than Kitson.

Why?
I did find that the Germans well deserved to win, Orange clearly had a big off day.

Michael 'Don't call me Kojak' Appleton's Pompey reign starts with a defeat. No surprise, only 1 point in all the away games.
Importantly, the legend that is Tim Gudgin has finished Final Score.

First win for the new boss against Coventry.
Supposedly we won't get a points deduction but the pessimist in me (or me, rather) thinks worst case is that the FA or someone will throw the book at us. HMRC still want to take someone down if some stuff I've read this past week in the papers are indication. Clubs have gotten ludicrous deductions before. Rotherham/Bournemouth minus 17 the same season (and league) Luton got 30, clubs in the Conference getting 20/25. One club in the very low echelons got minus 40 for some transfer problem. I fear Pompey won't survive many more of these incidents. As for attracting a new buyer there's better chance of Lucy Pinder supporting Portsmouth.

The once great Darlington FC look to be on their last legs. Another ex-league team to go out of business (Chester two years ago). Fans seem divided on a phoenix club, it doesn't matter if it has AFC or not (apparently Wimbledon are to blame for this despite wanting to name themselves FC Wimbledon or Real Wimbledon).
Whatever the case it's a sad end to this club. Yes they spent much of the past decade in the fourth tier but they drop down into the Conference, have an albatross of a stadium (25,000 seats...even Luton in the Conference only manages 4000 odd on a good day).
Will Kettering follow? Yet another season in the Conference where clubs' demotion/liquidation affects the outcome.

J7 for England manager - his spelling's better than Harry Redknapp's.

What a plonker. Somehow I don't want Redknapp for the job. He fidgets in any job, in and out of Pompey like the fleet, Southampton. Dare say he's got better chance of 'glory' at Spurs than England.
Maybe he'd shake the squad up but I doubt it. Overpaid pansies.

Only three or four months before Euro. Not sure anyone would want the job right now. Poisoned chalice?

Not as poisoned as the Newcastle job but it's up there.
Bond of the BBC thinks that Trevor Brooking will step in temporarily as 'he's already at the FA'.
I'd manage them.
Wait a jiff, Warnock's talking about the thing now...praising Redknapp and seeming self righteous and glad over the news this evening.

I think Stuart Pearce should take over for Euro 2012 and then appoint someone in the summer who can stay in charge for the long term.
Redknapp should stay at Spurs although I'd like the next manager to be English.

Seems they've put Psycho in charge for the Holland game. If we win they'll want him for Euro2012, I'll bet.

I've never supported Arsenal though. This is important, put in the biography.
