| Ha, I had a feeling Bardem would have an awkward hairdo! No wonder EON's been hiding him at Pinewood all this time. |

That actually occurred to me too. Hopefully he takes a shot at M, but unlike the Joker, Silva actually goes right between the eyes. |

| Anyone notice that Bardem looks oddly like Craig with longer hair, in some of these pics? |

| I fear I thought more Sacha Baron Cohen in Bruno rather than Craig with longer hair. |

| Anybody else see the balloon in that one shot and think of Fleming's YOLT?
I imagine it is probably a lighting balloon, but it'd be nice to think they actually remember some of the unused Fleming bits ... then again if they did, maybe it'd be time for the brainwashwed Bond trying to assassinate M bit ... I'm sure ready for that, especially if he gets lucky. |

What made it even more squirmy to watch was having a Bond girl who probably had a bigger cock than Rog.... Grace Jones is reported to have brought a big black dildo to bed with them in the infamous Bond/May Day "love" scene. Rog was not impressed. Are you serious about the dong or just playing? LOL. Roger Moore did his best to imply it in the AVTAK commentary for that scene. IIRC, he referred to it as an "appendage." And he confirmed it in plain language in his autobio. Rog and Grace didn't exactly get along on set. Nice bunch of pictures. The Bardem/Silva pictures are real interesting, as is the Skyfall-lodge deer shot and the helicopter video. Not sure if this is posted anywhere here, but there is also video floating about, of two helicopters circling the Manor, and another video of the big green helicopter on the ground, with what appears to be soldiers in green military fatigues, having emerged from it, after blasting gunfire at ground level, from the open doors of the chopper. The balloon is very interesting. Yes maybe it could be the YOLT escape bit. Hmmm. It does set up rather nicely. A balloon escape from the old castle-like manor, echoing the balloon escape from Blofeld's castle. Blofeld's castle!? :affraid: Could Fiennes indeed be Blofeld after all? === Majors plot spoilers in this guys very detailed blog, which he updates from the Manor location.

God, I don't know what to say. I'm speechless. The wig on Bardem looks so fake. Must be part of EON's econo-sizing the film's budget. I give up on SKYFALL. I'm moving on to BOND-24. This film is going to bomb! Huge bomb! Epic bomb!!!! |

| I don't think it's going to bomb, but I am curious where the expectation game is going to go.
Quantum's opening weekend was $68 milliion or so. If it's less than that, will Skyfall be seen as a disappointment? Or will there be a new (higher or lower) threshold set in the month before it opens?
It has been interesting reading the coverage of John Carter's box office debut this past week. Almost a $31 million opening, but a $240 million budget it has been cast as an epic failure (the NYT compared it to Ishtar).
As I said, too early to deal in details now. But come the fall, there will be some kind of consensus expectation number and the Skyfall opening weekend will be measured against it. |

:suspect: And the extras in that picture...... .....couldn't EON have cast some really beautiful people as extras? This lot looks tired and old. Why couldn't EON have sexy, young people walking along the sidewalk instead of these old people in their 30's??? And I've heard the craft services table on this film is nowhere near as good as the catering on DAD or CR or even QOS. EPIC FAIL, man!! This movie is going to be da a bomb. |

As I said, too early to deal in details now. But come the fall, there will be some kind of consensus expectation number and the Skyfall opening weekend will be measured against it. Without the benefit of a trailer and a full-court press, I'm going to say the expectation will be high-40's for opening weekend. I think the 4 year delay is probably going to be a hurdle that needs to be overcome, which is why I think all the secrecy on this film is hindering the movie's prospects rather than helping it. Four years isn't necessarily a huge gap between movies, but it is for the Bond series, which has never had a gap that big between films where the lead actor didn't change. OTOH, I argued very strongly back over at THE PLACE THAT SHALL NOT BE NAMED that the 4 year gap was a good thing for the series; abstinence makes the heart grow fonder. But that was before I saw that Sam Mendes nor EON or SONY had any intention of doing any promotion while in production. THE DARK KNIGHT's film shoot was a dream come true for a lot of fans; Nolan gave out plenty of information to keep the fans interested, with two trailers, lots of location shooting where the public could see it, etc....we've gotten nothing like that from SKYFALL. |

Quantum's opening weekend was $68 milliion or so. If it's less than that, will Skyfall be seen as a disappointment? Or will there be a new (higher or lower) threshold set in the month before it opens? Quantum had a great opening because it had goodwill rollover from Casino Royale. That momentum got squandered somewhat with Quantum. However, with a good 50th anniversary marketing campaign and a trailer that kicks ass...Skyfall can regain much of any perceived lost ground. Right now I'm putting it in the high 50m+ opening weekend camp. As long as it doesn't atrophy as badly as Quantum did from the second weekend, it can do some great numbers. Remember, many wrote off MI4 based on MI3's somewhat damp squib numbers, and Tom Cruise...and what a rebound that franchise made... |

| I'm getting a sense as to what SF might be like. The producers have been raving about the plot since day one and we know that this involves some attack on London and Mi6. We know that Bond's loyalty to M is questioned. And we know that Bond visits his ancestral home Skyfall Manor or Lodge, where he might learn some interesting truths about his past, and maybe escape on a balloon in a grand homage to Fleming's YOLT.
We know the DB5 is back as an homage to GF. This is all of interest to Bond geeks, who know their Bond mythology but how does this all work as a big bugdet box-office success.
I don't know. The pre-movie promotion and trailers will have a lot to do with it, to drive that first weekend. Then if the movie can deliver in theatres as a piece of suspensful stylish exciting Bond entertainment, we should be off to the races, with another big money blockbuster, but the brilliant plot that Babs and Mendes love so much will not be enough to drive box-office.
Until we get trailers or some sense of the vibe of this film, its way too early to tell what kind of impact it might have.
Clapperboard update from another Bond site. Shadow can you construct a full story narrative from this info and other available info?
Scene 19: Establishing shot of MI6 building Scene 22: Driving Scene, Whitehall, London Scene 27: In M's car, on the way back, Tanner learns someone is accessing the Flash Drive Scene 29: M's car is stopped by security at a checkpoint on the bridge. M climbs out angry. Scene 30: M yells at the bridge guards. Boom! Scene 35: Funeral in London Scene 39: Bond transported in Range Rover, London Scene 42: Underground office bunker, London Scene 45: Dirty bathroom, probably in London Scene 53: Underground office, London Scene 59: Bar, Shanghai Scene 63: Industrial scene (possibly lift), Shanghai Scene 64: Bar/night club in Shanghai Scene 68: Inside a Macao hotel room, Eve shaves Bond Scene 97: Some kind of screen display Scene 120: Underground station in London Scene 126: Ambulances, Police and the Fire Brigade are around as Bond runs down the middle of Whitehall past traffic on each side of the road due to a bomb explosion in the underground. Silva also seen in a police uniform Scene 127: Bond sprints to the front of the building - Outside Whitehall Office Scene 130: Silva comes out of a side door and into a police van. Bond sees M's car - Outside Whitehall Office. A bogus police Land Rover screeches up to the rear entrance at Trinity Square. Silva jumps in and the vehicle speeds off as other emergency vehicles arrive. Scene 131: Tanner puts M in her car, driven by Bond. It shoots off - Outside Whitehall Office. M and Tanner use a different rear exit at Trinity Square. M gets in the car and it speeds away before Tanner can get in. Scene 132: Tanner puts M in her car. It shoots off - Outside Whitehall Office. Shot of Bond and M in the car. Scene 134: Aston Martin DB5 - dark alley, London Scene 137: In the DB5 in Scottish Highlands, M wakes in the car - no Bond. Scene 138: On the Scottish roads Bond and M share a drink. Bond tells of his childhood. Scene 142: 'Room full of mystery', manor house. Scene 165: On the moors, Bond runs and kills one of Silva's men. Silva's man fires a flare and Silva sees M and Kincade. Kincade helps M along. Silva is excited as he sees M and Kincade. Scene 172: Rooftop scene with Bond & Eve, London |

| 172 could be the epilogue, or it could be the climax (suggesting a reversal of sorts)
Wonder if they aren't shooting the PTS till the end |

When did the first teaser trailer for the new Batman movie come out? November or December? If that's right, then it came out eight months before the film has its premier. But a lot of Bond fans say oh that's way too early for a trailer. Maybe I'm reading too much into that November press conference, but Wilson, Broccoli and Mendes seemed to act like it was still 1965 and all they had to do was show up and get a huge opening. |

| I have to admit, the link to Bond's dead family is making me slightly interested in where the plot of this film could be going. This could be something really great....or something tremendously cheesy and awful. It's hard to know. I mean, is this going to be like Bruce Wayne going after Joe Chill? |

If they also go down the generic path of Bond fulfilling his destiny or continuing his Father's (or would it more likely be Mother's works this time) work I will be might peeved. |
