| Miscast folks for the SPIDER-MAN franchise, at least. They're not always bad on their own. And FEAR AND LOATHING IN LAS VEGAS and ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND are terrific films. |

| My opinion on FEAR AND LOATHING has dropped in recent years, though that's more to do with Hunter S Thompson than Depp or Gilliam. |

Agreement. I've found myself growing out the attitudes that find FEAR AND LOATHING entertaining. |

I tell ya, there better be an amazing film buried behind all the trailers and still photographs, because I just am not getting a good vibe about this film, and the pre-release tracking on it apparently is starting to worry SONY, from what I've read.

| http://theincrediblesuit.blogspot.ca/2012/05/new-amazing-spider-man-poster.html They really need to do more in the marketing to differentiate ASM from the Raimi films. They're even re-using that whole giant web idea from the Raimi title sequences in the ASM promotion. While it's a clever idea, it's been done. They should have thought of something new. It all feels same old, same old. |

| I'm not in the least bit interested in seeing this. I think the only way I migt be tempted to see it is if Spiderman is added to the Avengers' line-up for THE AVENGERS 2, whenever it comes out. |

The rights to Spider-Man are owned by Sony, so that will not happen. (I have just killed your dreams in the mighty Prisoner Monkey fashion.) |

Actually, I have no dreams of seeing Spiderman in THE AVENGERS 2. At all. After Sam Raimi's three films, I just can't care for the character. I have no attachment to him, but I do know that the Avengers in comic book form frequently go through line-up changes. I was wondering whether Marvel might consider making that a thing in THE AVENGERS 2, but I suppose there is someone else they could bring in (though I'd rather they flesh out Hawkeye and Romanoff, as they were sorely under-developed in comparion to the rest of the characters). |

This. Especially Andrew Garfield (Though he seems better in Never Let Me Go and The Social Network) and Sally Field. |

| Having watched Raimi's Spiderman origin the other day, Dunst is still dreadful but I actually enjoyed Maguire's performance much to my surprise and all things considered its a decent tale that really sells the Uncle Ben influence - this is something the new film seems set to flount sadly....and then of course there's JK Simmons who really steals every moment and was born to play JJJ, too bad the third film didnt go with the Spider Slayers plot or Scorpion villain to give him a more prominent role. |

| I'm going with "wait and see". It doesn't look that promising, but it doesn't look overly dreadful to me either. |

^ This. Although I think I'll like it more than I did the first Spidey movie a decade ago. If it's a hit, I'm banking on the Goblin to be featured in the sequel. |

Yeah, I actually like that they're making him out to be a smartass this time. The smartass quips were one of the things I thought was sorely missing in the Raimi films. Peter's a teenage nerd who gets superpowers, of course it's gonna blow his ego a bit. And that Spidy is considered a menace, while in the Raimi films he was basically Superman appearing in public attractions with everyone cheering for him. I know it was post-9/11, but still, it's something that separates him from Superman for me. Looking at the trailer it doesn't look like it'll be the best of the superhero flicks, but I'll give it a shot. |

| It looks quite "meh" to me.
I think Lizard will be a good villain but I'd like to see Carnage or Venom in the sequel as Raimi didn't utilise him properly in Spiderman 3. |

| Call it a hunch, but I've got a good feeling about James Horner's score for this. |
