I smell so much bullshit in this. This is the guy who aped the mystery box gimmick, and now he's pinning it on the studio? Please. |

| Into Darkness may have plagiarized Star Trek history but it is as far removed from the spirit of Star Trek as I can imagine, the real issue is though that whoever Cumberpatch was meant to be was entirely irrelevant and pointless to the inept proceedings around him, naming him in the end only underlines how clueless and ignorant they are of Star Trek's lore. |

| In faint dread of the next film, Abrams directing or not. |

| Paramount shut down production of nuTrek3 and booted off Roberto Orci and his script.
Edgar Wright and Joe Cornish are among the the shortlist of filmmakers Paramount is considering. This might be the best thing to happen for the films in a long time. |

| New shortlist of directors for Star Trek 3: Rupert Wyatt, Morton Tyldum, Daniel Espinosa, Justin Lin, and Duncan Jones (who has already taken himself out of consideration).

Rupert Wyatt seems to be a pretty decent choice. After seeing his Apes film, I don't get the sense that he'd shy away from the sci-fi aspects of Trek, either. Tyldum is another good candidate. Haven't seen IMITATION GAME, but I thought HEADHUNTERS was a solid thriller (I actually thought he'd be a good choice for Bond 24 before Mendes decided to return). |

| I sometimes wonder what wonders Nick Meyer could weave. On TWOK he darkened the bridge as he didn't see the point of it being lit up as brightly as it used to be.
Otherwise, seriously, whoever comes in after Abrams can't be as bad as Orci might've been or Abrams was. Unfortunately, of the names listed above, I don't know any of them bar Jones and if he's removed himself from contention, than no one. |

Yeah, that really bothers me too. An ill-advised drunken liaison with a skank at the weekend meant I had severe sickness and diarrhoea this afternoon followed by a visit to the clinic. As my brain was similarly reduced to shit thought I may as well retrieve that unopened DVD of Into Darkness from the hotel landfill bag. What a mistake. You guys wrote 54 pages about this money-laundering machine? Take every turd Hollywood has curled out in the last 10 years and compress them into a concentrated shitbrick and you have Into Darkness. So much for harmless distractions. |
