I saw 33 films in January 2010 (personal record), and I keep notes. Cinephiles don't know the meaning of the word 'sadness', unless we're talking about sad films.
Then again, I look at FourDot's list, and all's well again.

Shocking, isn't it? Film per day it seems like, for some of these film nerds ;).

When I actually had my list, I was kind of surprised how many I had seen, but I get free movies from my theatre job, and I also show a fair amount of movies to my students (we watch every film adaptation of the novels we read, and I also show a few with historical merits)

PostSubject: Re: Rate The Films You've Seen In 2011   Rate The Films You've Seen In 2011 EmptyThu Jun 30, 2011 6:48 am

I'm never able to maintain my lists on here, however I do maintain lists of my own, which is why I always return with my figures for filmwatching in the first half of this year...

30s - 17 new films (IT HAPPENED ONE NIGHT to HI, NELLIE!)
40s - 37 new films (ANCHORS AWEIGH to MRS. MINIVER)
50s - 84 new films (THE MAN WHO NEVER WAS to WINGS OF THE HAWK)
60s - 30 new films (CASH McCALL to LONELY ARE THE BRAVE)
70s - 8 new films (EMPEROR OF THE NORTH to THE CANDIDATE)

and going by the fact I watched only 4 first watches outside these decades, I've watched 180 new films so far this year, with a small amount (about 10-20) of rewatches thrown in, which aint FD style numbers (when I last saw him he told me he'd actually kept going with his list), but its pretty big all the same. That said, considering I'm going on a 3 month holiday in the second half of this year, the numbers wont be anywhere near as big.

I thought getting a widescreen TV for my watching (without having to depend on using the family one), would actually have enabled me to watch more modern stuff - conversely it enabled me to watch all the 50s stuff I really wanted to watch: the widescreen late 50s stuff. Like so:

Quote :

THE PRIVATE WAR OF MAJOR BENSON
TALL MAN RIDING
