Just requested account deletion at Mi6.

I don't want to be associated with that turd. WHAT A JOKE. As if a cheap Facebook/Twitter hybrid would be worth losing thousands of great posts. And without a single, courteous warning.

Lazenby, keep spreading the word about this site to long time members. Anyone who continues to post at Mi6 regularly has to be out of their mind after what they did this evening.

Everybody's great work over a half decade just chucked into the trash with no notice. F***ing atrocity. We can rebuild here instead of on FACEBOOK.

I'm all for using this site. Makes me feel normal again.

The layout over there is downright atrocious. It even makes CBn seem easy on the eyes.

And all of those priceless Ambler and Moore conversations... down the drain.

The thing that irritates me the most is that there was no warning - yeah, the new place looks like a piece of S*** (sorry but if I want Facebook I'll use my facebook which I love).

They could've at least given us ample warning than just being like 'SUPRISE, MOTHERFUCKERS!' but actually. This is just poor management on James Page's part. Real bad. And yeah, the format ... I miss the old format so much. I can appreciate that there were issues with the site ... but once again this could've been done better with proper warning and archiving all our posts so if there were any there we wanted to keep we could - at least for a month or so.

Anyway - hey, friends! :D

I haven't got a clue how to use that new place, honestly.

We can have everything we had on the old site set up here in no time if enough people get on board.

Yep. I have to say I'm scratching my head at the new site though that isn't enough to completely turn me off it.

I'm just angry at JP. S*** one.

I found out about this place by chance - accidentally clicked on Tux's profile.

Since I'm feeling like a bit of a lost soul - I'll see how we turn out here.

What annoys me is the absolute tyranny of FACEBOOK in this matter.

The old MI6 forums thrived on the back of old-school, articulate, non-textspeak members whose posts were witty, well-written and easy to find and navigate through.

The FACEBOOK-style layouts not only limit what we can post, but it looks cheap and horrible and looks just like FACEBOOK. Setting MI6 up that way basically just seems to be saying "It don't mean a thing just how much of an institution was developed on the previous site, the future is FACEBOOK"; disposable quick replies as opposed to the great in-depth posts which were such a highlight of the previous forums, which leads me to call into question the future of the MI6 forums as from now on possibly being little more than a place for Bond news and very brief and rubbish one-sentence replies (the very kind of replies the previous forums seemed to utterly detest).

And the place has become an unnegotiable minefield ALREADY, and its only been up for a few hours.

He'll end up with just a pile of Facebook kids left on there who can't type or spell for s***. Wouldn't be surprised if he ended up reactivating the old site again in the future.

Mi6 was heading toward the direction of a kid zone.

This new move by the administrators made it official. Mi6 IS a kid zone now. Long-term members or more mature members who can articulate in-depth posts are expendable.

If you like hitting buttons to express your like or dislike for a film or subject, instead of writing, why, then NuMi6 is just for you! If you like telling the entire community that you're going to go eat a bowl of soup, or grab a drink from the fridge, then NuMi6 is just for you! If you enjoy censoring yourself and using terms like "poopy" and "pee pee", then NuMi6 is just for you! Etc., etc., etc.

I knew Mi6 was going downhill, but didn't think it'd be this fast.

Social networks and message boards do not mix. Facebook works as its own just as MI6 once did. Put em together it's just deformed.

2. This place was started around the same time Brown's was ... or at least that was when I first recieved word about it. Really it was made back when there was a major slump with the normal forums.

Yeah, I joined around the same time I had launched mine.

Seems like the owner of this forum had done the right thing by not picking IPBFree, though.

I am so F***ING pissed about MI6. It went out not with a bang, but with a whimper. And like any longstanding relationship I would have appreciated one last bang.

F*** it. I'm the kinda guy who, once I pass the threshold, it's no turning back. That new piece of S*** Twitter board is a F***ING joke and a slap in the face for people who've been around up to 9 years. And, as always, they won't tell anyone ANYTHING. Like it's state F***ING secrets. It's a James Bond fan site for F***'s sake!

I want to start anew here. Let's do it, motherfuckers! I know I can be a bit of a joker.

To be fair this site is a bit like that atm ... but I think with all new sites we need time to grow and establish our own stamp on things.

We need to work on contacting people like FourDot. I think he left MI6 once he took a look at the new forum. We've got get discussion going fast and attract people pronto.

My sentiments exactly. With good folks like you, Colly, CJB, ect joining there's little point to staying in nuMI6.

I also would like notorious members like Largo's Shark to keep things interesting.
