U2 probably would have been okay around 1995, but I think their time for a full theme has passed.

Eon need to balance out the need for a distinct theme that fits the tone of the film against the demand for a marketable performer. And that's why I think del Rey would be a poor choice - she's marketable, but I can't see any of her songs lining up with any of the films. Tonally, they're just all wrong.

I still remember LS suggesting Janelle Monae for SF, and while I was hesitant, the idea grew on me.

Ceelo has the best voice.

Unfortunately, he's toxic after some of his comments on Twitter of late.

I'm still vouching for U2.

I don't think we should have a female singer so soon after Skyfall; EON tried it with Skyfall, using an untested singer, and we all saw how that turned out.

I'd like a bit of variety every other film; if we get a ballad in one film, I'd like a rock version the next film. Obviously I'm biased towards a rock anthem, and if I had my wish, it would be MUSE or ONE REPUBLIC, but if we're going the ballad route again, might as well go with BEYONCE. She's got the pipes. She's commercially viable. And I must say, she seems quite attractive.....for a lady.

I think he's still gold (his latest single, "Sue," blew me away), so I say go for it. Beats Adele or Sam Smith, that's for sure.

I can't really picture Smith as the performer. In the few songs of his that I have heard, he seems to be aiming for crooning and ends up sounding as if he's slurring his words.

A couple of months ago, I would have suggested Jetta for the theme, but her cover of "I'd Love To Change The World" is getting attached to everything. It suited NIGHTCRAWLER, but was out of place in the TERMINATOR GENESIS trailer, and I imagine Sony would want someone highly marketable, but not associated with other films.
