| I've been over it for awhile, but I'll pay my final respects to the forum that no longer is.
Five years there. Had a lot of fun meeting very amusing and informative characters. The old place and all that history is gone, but with B&B we're able recommence and pick up the pieces without having to do that on a Facebook-centric forum. We finally do things our way without having to censor the word "bitch".
I honestly consider Bond & Beyond not only a worthy and spiritual successor to the old Keeping the British End Up but a major improvement. It won't bring in a lot of new members like the old site did but we've got most of the old vets to keep things interesting and won't have to worry about n00bs crashing in like little kids running around the house knocking shit over as it happened to often in MI6's latter years.
So long MI6, old chum. Here's looking forward to the undiscovered country with B&B. Cheers. |

| I was no doubt a noob on MI6 and only have a year and a half of memories but I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. I joined mainly to rejuvenate my interest in Bond and film in general and it was the perfect place to do it.
My problems with NuMi6 are mainly due to the Facebook/Twitter format which was a terrible idea then and still is now. I'll certainly miss the old Mi6 for it's insightful debates, witty contributions and occassional sparring between some members. |

I havent read all the posts and what happened, but if Ambler's terminated his account and his "ho fucking ho" attitute towards the old mods, I dont see why an olive branch can't at least be attempted to some of the old crew. And since this thread is going in the dustbin, thats my final two cents. |

| This thread shouldn't be dustbinned IMO, as I think it's not only a valuable piece of history relating to big events in the death of the old place and the birth of the new, but there's also some god damn black comedy gold in these MI6 threads. I'd either just have admin delete the blatant member insults or just have this thread put away somewhere where only the mods here can view it, if that can be done.
Lock it by all means, but no way would I want these threads binning.
I'm up for the olive branch thing though, as my only interests in keeping certain MI6 members away from this place to begin with was because there were heated things being said which may have offended them. That, plus my uncertainty as to people's loyalty to JP and what his intentions towards this place may have been.

I concur. Simply lock it up and preserve history. |

But after all, his work is really a James Bond 007 License to Kill ersatz. The 007 Gendre is set in the anals of Film History and Legend. It is a PATENT. Everything else is Copyright infringement and Intellectual Property theft. In my humble opinion. James Bond will live as long as there are intelligent species on Earth to enjoy Fun, Excitement, Danger, and Bleached Blondes. The new voice of MI6. |

| Goldeneye a 'mansion'? His definition of those clearly differs somewhat from mine.
Then there's the fact that Fleming owned it even before he started writing the novels, and that without the novels the movies wouldn't exist.
But trying to get 'JB007LTK' to listen to reason seems like it might well be an exercise in futility. |

| Just been given my first "official" warning at MI6 for doing exactly the same thing St George did in the Indiana Jones thread over there. Seems I'm not allowed to post links to articles I've posted elsewhere, yet the Mods are. Not to mention that seven years of constant and often extremely time-consuming toil as a poster at MI6 doesn't even earn me the right to an informal warning first.
No surprise, as I know there's people there who'd now like me gone, but it was disappointing that someone I considered (and still do) to be a friend readily accepted the assignment to dish the warning out to me. Does a modship mean that much? Seriously? Does it come with free HD porn or something? Because if I were a mod there, I'd tell the overlord to come out from behind his cashpoint and deliver the bad news himself before sticking my name on an official warning to a mate, and if he fired me for having some f***ing morals I'd thank him for it.
This just motivates me 1000 times more to help make this place wipe the floor with that ugly fucking ghost town.
Fuck Fuckbook. The shroud of darkness has fallen. Begun this forum war has.

St George has a link to the new edition of MI6 Magazine on his blog. Tells it's own story. Link to there, James Page keeps himself in curry for another week. Link to here, and all you get for your trouble is 83 f***ing world-class members telling it like it is. |

| I remember when I was enthusiastic about a MI6 Magazine. Then I realized I would never buy the thing. Now, they might as well sell ad space on the MI6hq page.
It says something that I had to go back to MI6hq to verify that there weren't any ads.
I feel bad about the split that happened. I never really had a beef with anyone still over there (save CR). I miss talking to them. Some people we straight up lost, as in not using MI6 or B&B.
This whole situation reminds me of a similar situation that happened on a message board. Mods made a drastic temporary change and pissed off a whole lot of people that subsequently left and created their own version. Long story short, the original board was restored and the two communities merged together again. While this is impossible in our case, it does give me hope that we'll become one community again once MI6 exits the Alpha and Beta stages and becomes a functional message board once more.
On the other hand, we've built a tight knit community here. While expansion would be great, we brought all the cinematic debate from KTBEU here and left behind the single word posts, the flame wars, and the willful lack of grammar skills. We now have the capability of mixing intellectual film discussion with nonsensical comedy without pissing of the powers-that-be.
And we can all drink. So let's toast the new frontier of cinematic discussion!

| If Mi6 hand any class, they would encourage double memberships. The online Bond fan community is all one big group anyway. We all have the same interest in Bond. They have plenty of double membership with CBn.People will just settle where they are most comfortable anyway. So-called bad blood need not be a problem. It can be, but it doesn't have to be. We can get all get past such pettiness. Wounds heal or at least they should. |
