Agreed. Dalton's LTK hair was just awful. However, I'm going to go against the grain in this thread and say that I like Craig's look in the picture with Dench. Suit looks a bit tight, but I think Craig looks good (even if he looks a little like Red Grant, as one poster mentioned). I mean, there's really only so much you can do with Craig's appearance. Floppy, longer hair is out. He cannot pull off any other look than what he's given us in these three films: basically close-cropped hair.

I think tarred and feathered would be a better look.

I think Michael Fassbender would be a better look, but we have to work with what we're given.

Might be the reason why he was good in it.

I lived with a Boer in the Cape. Her hobbies were sodomy, off-roading and machine guns. Basically, she was in training for the ANC. She would hotrod cars while I smoked on the patio. Every man should have a woman like that.
In retrospect she would have made a bloody good Bond.

Less than five I swear. I remember him in it but...almost in shadow.

Craig's hair is too short, and yep he does look like NY State Troooper, and his suit still looks like it was pasted on, (so his "awesome physique" will show through the fabric, no doubt) Sigh.
Anyway it doesn't matter. There is no way to make Craig look like Bond anyway. It's hopeless.

Yep, he should never have been cast. It's not a question of acting ability, he just doesn't look right.

I don't mind the cut of his suits...but that haircut is an abomination. Dude is a secret agent, not a SAS commando.

I don't think it's that Craig doesn't look like Bond...it's that the production/costume people don't do a very good job of making him look like Bond. His hair was too short and spikey in CASINO ROYALE and he was way too bulky (I believe Craig has even admitted he bulked-up too much for the film). He slimmed back a bit and had a good physique for QUANTUM, but his hair was still too short. Craig has big ears and a big nose, and a rather harsh looking face. So, they need to do something to soften those features a bit, and longer hair would certainly do that.

Given the haircut Craig has had in three films so far, I don't think they're gonna change anything. This is the look Craig has settled with for Bond so if you want a different haircut you're probably gonna have to wait for the next actor.
FWIW, Bond did sport a crewcut in one of the novels I believe.

Hmm. Didn't remember that detail in LIVE AND LET DIE.
Anyway, unlike everybody else here, I'm not hating everything I've seen of SKYFALL and Craig, though the hair is a bit close-cropped for my tastes. Was hoping they were going to have his hair more like he had it when doing publicity for QOS, which was a bit longer with a slight part.

I hate to be whining about such things, but I'm not digging Craig's look here at all. Seriously, what are the makeup/cotume people thinking? Compared to this, Craig's look in CR and QOS was like DiCaprio in Titanic. Even in Cowboys and Dream House he looked a lot younger. Is Mendes slashing the exotic locations from the production in order to save for the CGI to "smoothen" Craig in post-production?

I'm amazed Mendes has decided this is the right look for Bond. If he can screw up something so vital like Bond's appearance, then God knows what else he will fuck up during filming.
And as for rumours about Bond visiting his parents home in Scotland, I don't think this is true. If it is, then I have a nasty sinking feeling in my stomach about this movie. I just hope we are not in for another TWINE.
So far, the only optimistic image I've seen on this film is the shot of the DB5 in Glencoe. Everything else is looking shitter by the day - Craig in ridiculous tight suits, a stupid shaved haircut, donning stubble for at least part of the movie. I'm all for modernising Bond, but maybe they are taking this modernising a little too far.
A lot is riding on Skyfall. If EON fuck up this movie, it could spell the end of the franchise as we know it.
BTW, where is Prisoner Monkey???

If SF bombs, Bond could go into hiatus again and try another re-launch. We've already seen this twice with the GE and CR franchise re-launches.
But I think SF will make lots of money and Eon will just keep on keeping on. We are not likely to see a significant shift in direction or tone until Craig decides to move on. Could be a while.

To be honest, I'm really excited about SKYFALL. I never really had a good feeling about QUANTUM OF SOLACE in the months before it was released, but with SKYFALL I'm getting nothing but good vibes. The main draw? Well, this may seem like a very small thing, but I'm extremely intrigued by the idea of a Bond film set largely in Britain. Location doesn't equal quality, of course, but this does suggest a relatively scaled-back and down-to-earth Bond adventure with a unique look and feel. For some reason, I'm getting a LIVING-DAYLIGHTS-without-quite-so-much-globetrotting vibe.
Who knows, though? SKYFALL may suck. The dramatic elements may be laid on too thick (not for the first time). Dench may be annoying and given way too much screentime. The film may be joyless. But you know what? That's not what the tea leaves are telling me right now. Honestly, pretty much everything I've seen of SKYFALL and read about it has got me pretty darn stoked.

Yeah, I'm much more excited about SKYFALL than I expected to be (in those early days, boy, I was pretty damn negative about its prospects). We'll see how things shape up, but I got a good feeling about this one.

DB5 caught on video in Glencoe from a few days ago. Apparently they're doing helicopter re-shoots.
