| Come on, he's gone, and you guys are still tearing him a new asshole. His posts were treated as spam, but when he's not around to defend himself, this thread, which is even more spammy than his threads, still exists. And for what....fun?
Might I add I am disappointed that the decision to ban him was actually enforced for something so trivial. |

He was banned for endangering this forum's existence and provided little to no worthwhile contribution. He was mocked in this thread while he was still here, will continue to be while he's gone. |

Which is more childish than his posts. Sorry, but I'm not in the kick-his-ass club...and consider some of the treatment meted out to him downright unfair. If someone edited my posts, the way some Mod did his, for the sake of a laugh, I'd be out of here in a flash since that was clearly an abuse of process. That's all I have to say. Sent the rest to M. |

j7 dug his own grave. I think we can have a few laughs considering he put the forum in jeopardy. |

He was banned for endangering this forum's existence and provided little to no worthwhile contribution. He was mocked in this thread while he was still here, will continue to be while he's gone. I'm only adding my opinion to this thread in order to back up Mrs. Aural Sect's arguments. I agree with about 85% of what she's had to say regarding people continuing to post about him, though I don't agree he was banned without merit. Based upon his passive response, no, the absolute state of denial he seemed to be in as he continued to post as if nothing was about to happen to him even after I gave him 24 hours to clean up his affairs and say goodbye, I think his behavior clearly demonstrated that he would never respond to reason or common sense from anyone at Bond & Beyond. Viewed from that angle how could I not support the decision to ban him? What I find uncomfortable about the post-J7 dialogue, though, is that for someone who contributed nothing worthwhile to the forums, he manages to generate a lot of discussion in his absence, none of it any more mature than he was. I'm not trying to be the forum Puritan, but I kind of thought we were supposed to be better than him. What's more, the comments feel *personal* rather than "professional" (and by professional I mean I thought we banned him because his posts were exposing Bond and Beyond to unwanted attention from Forum Motion, and not because we just didn't like what he had to say or the childish way in which he said it). I'm not suggesting that there's never any room or time to be childish and immature; I guess I just don't see J7's behavior as rising up to that level. Slagging off on Osama Bin Laden after his death? Of course. Jerry Sandusky? Absolutely. J7? Eh..... Anyway, that's my two-cents. |

| Do you have one that says 'Even though you were clearly a complete dick from day one and are no loss to this forum at all, a few forum members are (there's no accounting for taste, but there you go) 'angsting' about you being banned?' If so, send him it. |

Oh, stop. The "I'm sorry" card idea was just a joke. If some of you honestly want him back here, then so be it. Have M let him back through the gates. If members don't care for reading his remarks, then I guess the ignore feature could be used. However, if 65-75% of the entire forum can't read your comments, then what's the point of even posting? I'm done with voting for or against member bans, though. This is just getting too complicated and messy for my liking. Regardless, I hope you don't leave the site because of this, Mrs. Sects. We truly value your presence here. |

She sent me a PM last night, but I just now had to time to sit down and respond to it. Of course M won't delete her account, so she's free to return anytime she wishes, which I hope will be soon. I've asked her to reconsider. And as you've said, nobody wants him back. I had nothing against him and he never bothered me, but I'm also not clamoring for his return either. I"ll speak for Aural unless she opts to return and speak for herself on the matter and this is what I think she was trying to say: whether she agreed with, or disagreed with, J7 being terminated, it now felt immature and childish and pointless to keep piling insults on to someone who is no longer allowed to defend himself, and it ultimately makes US, the moderators, look worse than J7. She, and I, would expect some of this, and maybe accept some of it, had it been just the regular posters in the open forums, or if the Mods had had their fun with JWild a few weeks ago and then finally dropped it. But it *FEELS* and *SEEMS* like it is going on in perpetuity. And I want to go on record right now as stating unequivocally, categorically, that none of my criticisms are aimed at anyone in particular; they are just general comments and sort of vague impressions I've gotten from skimming through these threads. Because there were so many people taking potshots at a post-banishment JWild that it's hard to keep track of who said what.....plus I just don't care. I just want to make sure that in everything we do here, as irreverent and wild as we've been at times, that we know where to draw the line so that we don't become the moderators over at CBn and Nu-MI6 that we've all had problems with in the past. If we're all not better people for having had to deal with the losers running CBn and MI6, then what are we doing here? I thought we were supposed to be setting an example. I propose we get back to discussing ANYTHING BUT JWILD. |

To enable that, I'm going to lock this thread. |

That's exactly the ethos of this forum. The reason j7 was banned is because it was deemed that, on multiple occasions, he crossed that line and showed absolutely no signs whatsoever of ceasing to do so. Blatant racism will get us closed down if it's allowed to continue, I kid you not. That's top priority when it comes to things we have to curtail around here. The alternative? No forum at all. People won't come here if the place turns into one big race-bashing free-for-all. I'd be really disappointed if this whole saga loses us a valued member in Mrs Sects, but what more can I do about this situation that I haven't done already? I agree with Mrs Sects though, in that bashing j7 now that he's no longer here (or even when he was here, for that matter) seems pointless and risks us lot coming across as not much better than the man himself. This thread doesn't really need to go any further now that j7 has gone, so I'll put Sharky's lock back in place. |
