A new forum banner? Submit ideas here

I'm afraid my mediocre design abilities have hit a wall trying to accommodate that many images. I've given up.

Maybe someone a lot better than me can try. Or we can try a different approach.

Aren't there members on here who specialise in that? Perhaps they could give it a try. Not that I'd have a clue personally. I'm still getting over books...

Not sure. I know Sharky made a few attempts and I think Python did as well. Aural did a few of our older banners, I believe.

JobeGDG is by far the best - I PM'd him a few days ago about that. He's here as Richard Hannay.

Yes, Mr Richard Hannay seems to be a safe bet for a graphic designer for our new banner.

I love our new banner as much as anyone, but how about an extra image on each end of the banner so that the banner width matches up with the forum width? For example, to emphasise that we discuss old Bond and new Bond, a pic of Craig could go next to Connery, while we could put a female icon (Monroe? Deneuve?) on the other end. Think it would make a great banner even better whilst also bringing the banner size in line with the forums.

Perfectly logical suggestion, although I'm now wondering whether an entire forum overhaul (including name change) would have been best. Having a new banner and new colours hasn't brought in much activity.

I don't think trying to make another change will do much right now. This just seems to be another one of those slow passes.

Some of the more prolific posters appear to be taking a hiatus.

It's a 'holidaying' time of the year, might well have something to do with it.

Sharky and I tried a host of variations... Repeating any of the colours threw the thing off balance. Repeating the entire set of colours (so there's 8 figures) made it look incredibly crowded.

A bit of recruitment could help. Have you thought of increasing the board's visibility on Google? Right now, B&B only shows up on the front page of the search for "bond forum" - but not "james bond forum," "james bond forums," "bond forums," "007 forum," or "007 forums."

I don't know much about SEO, but maybe incorporating the best of these phrases into the webpage name, Forumotion description, or even into text at the top of the front page, would help more Bond fans find our board.
