New forum colour scheme? Submit ideas here

Some people are tired of our blue colour scheme. Please suggest alternatives here.

Sharky's suggestion of a warmer color scheme is something I think was should go for.

OK, these are a few of my ideas for the re-branding of the banner to a warmer colour::

Pastel colours attract young people. I have been told this by a sales rep for a tobacco company. Look at the colours in this new Golden Virginia Smooth roiling tobacco:



This pastel colour or something approaching it would set us apart from all of the other main James Bond forums - CBn, AJB, MI6 Community and Universal Exports. It would also attract more young people - especially much-needed women members.

The new tag-line, Moonraker inspired:

Bond and Beyond - Where all other James Bond forums end...this one begins!

What do other BaB members think of this as a possible way forward?

Agreed, although I'll need concrete submissions on this which cover every single colour used on the forum so that everything blends without complaints.

Pretty good suggestion, FM.

Something to get away from the baby blue color we've been using. It worked in the beginning, but it's a little stale now.

Simple could be better, too, such as blacks, whites, and grays.

I agree with Fieldsman. Yellow or orange with black text. Hornet colours.

Yes, I'm with LS. We certainly need warmer colours!

Does phpBB offer alternative skin layouts? That way, several colour schemes can be put on offer for members to choose from. Personally, I prefer a dark background with white or light blue font, it's easier on my eyes. I don't like the current bright background at all.

I think warmer colors are OK but I think we should keep the text on top of a white (or white-ish) background. Anything else is a strain on the eye. That's why books aren't printed on blue paper. (And why CB.n gives you migraines.)

Upon further reflection, I do think Sharky's suggestion of pastels is a good idea. Not necessarily because they attract young people but because they do look cool. As long we don't end up looking like Perez Hilton's site, I could see it working out.

I agree on a warmer color palate. Something a little more sophisticated or British looking would look great, nothing too "techy" or anything. Got to be careful about using colors that are too dark, though, or else we'll end up like cb.n, which is borderline unreadable for me at times.

Black and gold might be better, but black and green looks very classy too.

Not really a fan of dark colors. For reading purposes, it's hard on the eyes.

It could be OK... Though maybe not too many colours. Maybe the grey body, as suggested, and then the (from left) first colour, the third colour and one of the blues (personally, I like the deeper blue).
