One of the few times that phrase has appeared anywhere.

Well unless you've had them cleaned since last time they will be. |

| The goal isn't to have all girls like you, but just a few, or even one... So do dress nicely, clean, pressed, fitted. Make sure you have a clean body, hair and teeth - I know that sounds obvious but many men don't go that far... eeek!
Then think about this... you are not attracted to all women but you don't think badly of the ones who don't do it for you, right? You just don't think of them that way. That's the way others think of most people too. So don't assume that it's all bad; it's usually just that most people, men and women, go unnoticed.
Get noticed. Buy a girl a drink or just notice her and compliment her... then scram for a while. It will make her curious. Even if she is not the one you want, do it for practice.
Next time you are at the bar ordering a drink (or a cafe ordering coffee), just ask the girl next to you if you can pay for hers. Or just tell her that she has a nice outfit. Do it and then head back to your own friends. She'll go back to her friends and tell them. It will be a nice surprise for her and you get practice and the knowledge that you made someone's day.
And if you are too shy to do it to girls your own age, try buying a coffee for an old lady or one in which you definitely would not be interested. It feels good and you will gain confidence. |

Oh, I'm good at flirting in real life too, despite your attempts to portray me as a Mummy's boy type. |

Yes, I worked with her tonight. Don't know what to say to that one, really. Quite demeaning.
Would you do her? Yes I would, gladly. I did fancy her and she was into me but I didn't ask her out and she said some months later after dating another guy at work "I've got a real man now" and gave a wicked kind of laugh. She said "sorry" afterwords but it kind of hurt and maybe I deserved it. Didn't help that I was depressed as hell at the time. I think she thought I led her and then didn't ask her out and girls seem to hate that stuff. Yep... She said that because she was upset/hurt that you didn't ask her out and it was the only way she could justify it. Like only a real man could handle her or have the guts. It's BS. Even if you had led her, it was a mean thing to say.
Had you been as spiteful as she was, you could have said that a real woman would have a) asked you out, and/or b) understood how hard it is for guys to take that first step. But that would be mean. The fact that she said it after months of dating someone else is telling. About her.
It drives me nuts when I hear men or women talk of "real" men or women. It's rarely to point out the good in the "real" and usually to make some badly veiled insult at someone else.
Thanks for explaining it. I thought as much, though I'm not very well used with the dating game at all and it has put me off women for good. I never did have much confidence in myself and now I have even less. As Ian Fleming said, most people in relationships eventually subtract from each other rather than add up to anything. Her boyfriend is a real arsehole too. I don't think I'll ever settle down as I can't hack women at all. Better off alone. I'm very cynical about love, I'm afraid. I'm going to assume you aren't really 89 years old. In which case it's silly to swear off the opposite sex after one bad incident. Disappointment and unpleasant experiences are a part of the love/relationship game for everyone, not just you. If some people give you the impression that love comes easy, you are allowing yourself to be fooled. I can't really give you any practical advice as I don't know you personally, but I would suggest keeping yourself "out there". |
