To be honest, I hadn't realised I'd seen as many of his films as I had. They all feel rather different, so I suppose that could be a good indicator that his Bond film would be distinct to his previous works.

The Blade Runner trailer didn't quite tickle me, though perhaps I wasn't concentrating when it played at the cinema.

Villeneuve is supposedly in talks for Bond 25, but it depends on his other commitments, such as Cleopatra and Dune.
It's believed that if Villeneuve does take the reigns for Bond 25, Roger Deakins will return, too.

“Directors are lining up to do the next Bond film,” an insider told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY about Bond 25, the next addition to the famous series. While Yann Demange, Denis Villeneuve and David Mackenzie‘s names have all been thrown into the mix, our source says that the top pick goes to Christopher Nolan.
Quote :
“They want to take the franchise in a completely different direction,” the source added. “The producers don’t want him to be the ladies’ man he has been known for and actually want him to get married. Everyone feels Christopher would be the best to steer the film in the direction they are seeking.”

Oh that's just great ...
If that's really true then quite frankly they might as well off the poor spy by the end of the film out of pure mercy. It's stupid that EON's current heads can't seem to quite figure this series out even though there are twelve original novels, two short story collections and sixteen pre-Babs films to look at and maybe get an idea of who Bond is. The revenge angle is not new and has been done to death to point where Bond should just be fired given how little the guy actually does his job anymore. Bond has been married before and quite frankly there's no way the current team of writers can put together something that would even deserve to sit on the same shelf as my OHMSS Blu-ray. Bond has gone rogue too many times and has had far too many personal issues in the past several films to the point it's a pathetic trope for the unimaginative writers and audiences.
I suppose the only positive if this is true is that if Nolan directs we can all just start calling Craig 'BatBond' to distance this possible stinker from the real James Bond films.

Any chance of fucking Babs off and getting Weinstein onto this?

Conjured to mind a concept poster for OHMSS with Bond and Tracy back to back, guns in hand (I'm sure I saw it someplace, maybe I smoked something) and the poster tagline is "Bond...and wife"
Honestly, spin on my nine.

Best use of that video. Ever.
Agreed on all counts, not least of all your last comment. Get this nu-Bond out of the system with Craig, Nolan, and whoever else for Bond 25 so we can get back to business with a return to the James Bond we all know and love for Bond 26.
It just makes everyone at MI6 look so inept. M should have fired him back in Casino Royale never have promoted him in Casino Royale 06.
It probably is just tabloid rumours, not to mention there has been a flurry of (baseless?) stories recently. Craig supposedly wants Monica Bellucci back for Bond 25 (can you imagine if he's ditched Madeleine and it's Lucia he marries? ) and Dennis Gassner has apparently let slip he is coming back. Which makes me think perhaps a director has been found, considering they'd have a say on what heads of departments they want.

Doubtful you smoked something. Not in this day and age of stupidity governing the direction of the Bond films.

Even if there's any substance to this rumour, I somehow doubt that any new bride of Bond's is going to be so for very long.

Indeed, which is all the more frustrating because she'd get bumped liked Tracy did. Forgetting SPECTRE is the way forward.

So in essence what they are aiming for is
Starring Daniel Craig as someone with the name James Bond. and we can modify the usual disclaimer:
Any similarity or relation to any person living, dead, created in fiction by Ian Fleming or previous envisioned in the James Bond franchise prior to 2005 is entirely coincidental.
Though tbh I think this story is most likely a lot of bull!

Marine Vacth as the Bond girl? Though perhaps she isn't the right type for the role, but she is one of the more interesting young actresses working in French cinema today.
She has more or less become François Ozon's new muse (including in his "Vertigo" homage "L'amant double").

Her Russian is pretty good. Probably here Greek too. But isn't she half Craig's age?
The editing function seems to have been removed in some areas, possibly because some members were removing their posts wholesale such as in Fieldman's acting thread.

I'd like to see Jason Isaacs in 25, despite his recent ubiquity. Also, if they're intent on a gritty Bond still get a tough American such as David Ayer for the director's chair.

Daniel Craig and Léa Seydoux already had a 17 year age difference, so 23 years in the case of Daniel Craig and Marine Vacth isn't that much of a leap.
Besides, doesn't Wooderson's rule apply to aging Bond actors?

True, but Craig was noticeably uncomfortable with Seydoux. She gave a very underrated performance, but he just wasn’t that into her. Maybe his wife was on set.

You mean, 'That’s what I love about these high school girls - I get older, but they stay the same age.' That would work if she's playing another whore. But isn't Vacth past all that?

I just liked the goofiness of that GIF, the fact that it continued my smoking theme from the last couple of avatars was just a happy accident.
I like Marine Vacth mostly because of the tradition of having European actresses as Bond girls. Though obviously there are many other candidates if they want to go that route.
Some probably more age-appropriate than Marine Vacth.
In terms of the age discrepancy though, I will be very surprised if the next Bond girl is older than early 30s, which will mean we will definitely have an age difference that is near two decades. So what's a couple of years more when the difference is already so vast?

I'd agree, except I don't think Craig is comfortable with large age differences. He undermined Seydoux's entire performance.

Which is one of the many reasons why "Spectre" should have probably been his last Bond movie.

Absolutely. It was a sad day when he agreed to come back. I think Eon found the distribution rights were a tough sell without the existing James Bond in place.

I still like Nora Arnezeder too. She's two years older than Marine Vacth and she could probably use the pick-me-up that the international exposure of a Bond movie could bring her. Her career seemed to have plateaued a bit after that "Angélique" reboot didn't do quite as well as they had obviously hoped.

‘Her father is Austrian and Catholic, while her mother is an Egyptian Jew and of Sephardic heritage.’
Sounds like my type. Certainly has an arresting look - pretty, but not conventionally so, which is always more interesting.
Can't say I've seen any of her work. Unfortunately, French actresses’ careers rarely escape unscathed from Anglo Saxon movies. I can’t say why.

They tried to reboot the "Angélique" series with her in 2013.
The movie franchise that made Michèle Mercier a household name, at least on the continent. Of course, Mercier supposedly ended up hating how the role followed her for the remainder of her career.
Unfortunately for Nora Arnezeder, audiences weren't quite as hungry for "Angélique" as they were in the 1960s.

Just took a look at Arnezeder's resume and she's done a few English language films already. Seems unlikely for Bond, though. My fear is some obvious casting catastrophe such as Cara Delevingne or Emilia Clarke.
I like Emily Browning, but she's not overtly sexy - she seems to have turned her back on blockbusters anyway. Sylvia Hoeks may be more likely after her performance in BR2049. Right age, too. However, I like the look of Mackenzie Davis - something mischievous about her eyes/eyebrows that appeals to me. Maybe I could help her stuff her bra...
