No, I just said it. They were trying to be all self-deprecating and humble, and I think they pulled it off.

L plates on the cars of honeymooners are quite common. You also get L plates on the back of the bride-to-be at Hen Parties, which can look quite amusing when stuck on the back of an obvious old banger ;)
