| I have been doing a lot of tinkering on my Bond film ranking recently which is why I have been absent from the 'James Bond Films Elimination Game - 2012' thread. Anyway, seven weeks on and here is my new and improved ranking of the "official" EON-produced Bond films. Most of it is very similar to my previous list although there are a few notable changes, namely my new-found appreciation for OP and LTK although TSWLM, TWINE and DAD have all dropped a few places recently. Notice that this time around I have added rankings out of ten to every film:
01) The Living Daylights - 10/10 02) Thunderball - 10/10 03) From Russia with Love - 10/10 04) On Her Majesty’s Secret Service - 09/10 05) Dr No - 09/10 06) GoldenEye - 09/10 07) Casino Royale - 09/10 08) Octopussy - 09/10 09) Licence to Kill - 08/10 10) Goldfinger - 08/10 11) The Spy Who Loved Me - 08/10 12) Live and Let Die - 08/10 13) For Your Eyes Only - 07/10 14) The Man with the Golden Gun - 07/10 15) Moonraker - 06/10 16) The World Is Not Enough - 06/10 17) Diamonds Are Forever - 05/10 18) Tomorrow Never Dies - 04/10 19) A View to a Kill - 04/10 20) Die another Day - 03/10 21) You Only Live Twice - 03/10 22) Quantum of Solace - 03/10

| The best is very much yet to come Paula.
Besides From Russia With Love and Dr. No, which you've already purchased, I'd suggest getting Thunderball. Between the three of those, you'll have seen the very best of what the series has to offer. |

| Salomé is right as always. And all three films had the same director. (Terence Young.)
Not coincidence, me thinks. |

I don't think they had Thunderball in, I wanted The World Is Not Enough but they didn't have that either, but they said more stock will arrive at the weekend. I think I've bought the only ten ones they have in stock at the moment. |

Lucky escape, mark my words. Besides, if you see Skyfall this week then you'll have seen TWINE anyway. Skyfall is a pre-sequel, re-booted reimagining of TWINE's dramatic emotional intensity, coupled with whatever Bourne and Batman have been up to lately. |

| Bond as a series is so varied in style, I'd almost recommend renting the movies first before buying them. If you can squeeze enjoyment out of every Bond flick, then it would be worth investing in a whole box set. Some of us can enjoy every Bond film, while the rest of us are collectors that must own every Bond film regardless of our opinion of it.
Watching all the 60's Bond films is a requirement, so you should seek out YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE as well as THUNDERBALL. ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE is great as well, but I would hold off on buying it until you've completed Connery and Moore's canon.
Also, look for THE SPY WHO LOVED ME (my definitive fantasy Bond film), and THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS. |

| See I'd say avoid TSWLM if you can until the end because it's one of the better ones. Instead, buy TWINE. :) |

Die Another Day Paula, must be very interesting coming at the films Craig first though I realise that's most likely a generational thing. Perhaps too early to identify patterns in your ranking though can't help noticing that the three Brosnan films you've seen are near the bottom of your list... |

| Having recently done my traditional pre release Bond marathon I found to my surprise that many of my opinions regarding certain films have changed dramatically since I last compiled a list, but this is how it now stands:
1) Casino Royale 2) On Her Majesty's Secret Service 3) The Living Daylights 4) From Russia With Love 5) Skyfall 6) Quantum Of Solace 7) For Your Eyes Only 8 The Spy Who Loved Me 9) Goldeneye 10) Moonraker 11) Thunderball 12) Octopussy 13) Licence To Kill 14) Dr No 15) Diamonds Are Forever 16) You Only Live Twice 17) Goldfinger 18) Tommorow Never Dies 19) The Man With The Golden Gun 20) The World Is Not Enough 21) Live And Let Die 22) A View To A Kill 23) Die Another Day |

| Interesting that Skyfall makes your top six.
I haven't really considered where it would end up on my list. |

| Lazenby, Brosnan and Moore don't interest me much so there's no point in me trying to rank their efforts. My favorite Bond films will always be the Connery/Terence Young efforts. However, I have included the bottom three just to emphasise how unlikely it is that I would enjoy Skyfall given that I still believe Craig is completely wrong physically for Bond. Nevertheless, his performance in Skyfall is a triumph. Actors aside, what I would really like to discuss about Skyfall is the screenplay, but I think it best to wait until the film has opened in North America given the makeup of this board. |

You don't have to wait too long. I'll be interested to hear what you have to say (especially given your significant disdain for the previous two Craig outings). I'm frankly astonished that you enjoyed SKYFALL as much as you did. |

Not as astonished as I am, though I'm not sure enjoyed is the word: I actually found it very moving, strange though that may seem. Skyfall somehow encapsulates a lot of things I feel about getting older and living in England, things I would never expect to be addressed by a Bond film. |

Changed my list to include last 4 Bond films I watched (Skyfall, Licence to Kill, From Russia with Love and Dr No) and i've got 5 more to watch this week (The World is not Enough, You Only Live Twice, Thunderball, man with the Golden Gun and Moonraker) and still waiting to buy the others I havent seen. Really want to get hold of the Living Daylights, I liked Timothy Dalton in fact he might be my second favourite Bond behind Daniel Craig.
