| Was wondering where SPECTRE fit into one's ranking.
Also didn't realise you rated TND and GE so highly, and AVTAK and FYEO so lowly. |

I'd argue only the first nine films on my list are good films per se; the rest are a mediocre bunch and almost interchangeable. TND is not a good film, but parts of it appeal to me because I once worked with Richard Desmond and it's hard to watch Elliot Carver without thinking of him. To give another example, Moonraker is there simply because I like the Lockheed Electra and Derek Medding's modelwork. As I said, outside of the top 10, sometimes the rankings are for personal rather than qualitative reasons. Some of the bottom 10 I've seen only once and my life would not have been any poorer if I'd not seen them at all. |

Really hope SPECTRE grows on me upon DVD watchings but, yeah, I had less fun with it than those Brosnan flicks. |

Hmmm. Just above "Die Another Day", that's not the kind of endorsement that will send me running to the movie theater. |

| I'm trying to avoid spoilers (and thus avoiding the SPECTRE subforum) but looks as if the latest Bond caper is getting the red-headed stepchild treatment. |

| It will never de-thrown QOS as the red-headed stepchild. That's just a special kind of special. |

| So that's one person who doesn't hate SPECTRE. Though #10 for a film with a new car smell doesn't bode too well seeing as, more often than not, they slip downwards as the freshness wears off.
I guess going in with lowered expectations might be a plus. |

| It's not as bad as it looks, ranking wise, level pegging with three or four others including Skyfall. But yes as freshness wears so does the liking but Skyfall is still strong whereas Casino Royale wore thin a couple of years on.
Best of luck CJB. |

Only seen SP once. Has the potential to move down to the bottom of the barrel. The only reason why it's where it's at now is because of the beautiful cinematography, Monica Bellucci, the PTS and Hinx. |

| No way it's below QOS for me. Quite above it, infinitely. I don't think it would be in my top 5 though. I haven't done a marathon this year, so I am not sure where I would place it like I did in 2012 for SF. |

| DAF bored me this year when I watched it which is a Bond film's biggest sin… Excellent score, great dialogue and a colourful cast of characters but too thin a plot, dodgy special effects and poorly paced. First time it's been dead last as it's usually it's DAD or LALD.
Oh well, will see how it goes next year if I do a Bondathon. |

I love the character mix of GE so it holds up well imo, as for SPECTRE its too early to tell whether it will sink or swim at its current point - in many ways it is the opposite of the Thunderball effect really, there is a film that when I watch it it often feels too long and languid but the moment the credits have finished all those great moments and that wonderful sense of style strikes me tenfold and leaves me wanting more....with SPECTRE it seemed a breeze to watch and was fun, but afterward you start to question why on earth it worked in the first instance...... |
