It's one thing to bring back a recurring character like Blofeld (as bad as it was) but rebooting one-time villains would truly signal the series is out of puff. I'm actually okay with rebooting old characters if they're done right. Blofeld was not done right. I don't think Dr.No has so captured the public's consciousness that the character is untouchable. If we can recast 007 we can recast a character from 1962.
I've had this odd idea in my head for years that EON should adapt NOBODY LIVES FOREVER and bring back some of the older villains in a free-for-all as different assassins or teams of villains try to bump each other off in order to capture 007 and claim the bounty. Sort of a rogue's gallery of past Bond villains out to claim the reward for bringing Bond's head to SPECTRE. Will never happen, but I can dream. I don't think a new version of one-time villains would enhance the legacy of the series. Any sense of denouement upon watching DN will swiftly fade knowing the character features in another adventure. Or like when I was watching OHMSS recently, I couldn't help but have a flash of Lazenby and Salavas as kids learning to ski by their (adoptive for Bond) dad. To quote the dench Dench, they "really fucked it up this time". |

| Yeah, Dr No should stay in Dr No. That film, like so many others in the series, are unique because of the one-off characters that feature in the story arc. There's no artistic value in digging them up and rehashing them for the Age of Woke. I want my image of the good Doctor to forever be Joseph Wiseman doing a bit of a squint, Mao suit and rubber gloves at the ready, not Freddie Mercury-meets-Phantom of the Opera. |

| From what I hear about Hans Zimmer, he runs a factory of composers. He composers motifs personally then palms off his scores to his underlings. Not sure how much of that his true or whether that would be the case for something as big as Bond.
I quite like his scores for The Holiday and The Lion King - if they're truly his, that is. I quite liked his music for Hidden Figures, actually. For action films however, I've been less impressed, and I fear his work will continue that clinical sound the Craig era-- and modern cinema in general - tends to endorse. It doesn't help that he is a frequent collaborator of Nolan. |

| I've heard that about Zimmer too. Wouldn't surprise me if he does the arrangement of the Bond theme himself for NTTD, then as you say has his underlings do the rest. |

| Well he does turn 52 in March, so probably not reasonable to expect him to look like he did when he started out as Bond in CR.
On that note, gravitating towards a light-hearted detective franchise like Benoit Blanc might be a smart move on his part. |

Yeah, but I daresay he's looking a bit long in the tooth even by the standard of 52-year-old Hollywood actors. If I do say so myself, I'm 52 and--praise be to God--look younger than DC. Considerably... |

Considerably... True, but we are starting with a man who looked older than his 37 when he first got the gig. So he isn't suddenly going to start looking younger than his age. |

they clearly have better surgeons Pitt clearly had surgery and he is caked underneath layers of make-up whenever he attends awards shows. There are moments in his recent films which cannot quite hide his real age. |

| Doubtful. She's not trending. Feels like a diversion like Ellie Goulding was for Sam Smith/Spectre. Oh how much more desirable that alternate reality is...
It'll be Dua Lipa. |

what's wrong with her? I ask as someone indifferent and can't name one of her songs. The worst I have heard by far is the one for Casino Royale |

| You know I figured in the trailer, Bond was driving an OHMSS-era DBS and yet in the photos I'm browsing, the Aston has the same reg plate as the V8 in Daylights. Either I don't know my Aston's anymore or we're getting the best of Bond's AM... |

| Reboots clearly not only reset your timeline, they reassemble cars you self-destructed back in the day too. |

| Ha, indeed. The V8 is my favourite Bond Aston (and if I had the money, one I'd get myself) but seems out of place here. Sooner the DBS as it got little screen time really. |

| I don't believe it is the '69 DBS in the trailer, Hilly. Just the Vantage. - Blunt Instrument wrote:
