On the box-office ... there's speculation that the decision might be taken to further delay its release until next year, in the hopes that having it be the 60th anniversary film will improve its haul. Brilliant. Because we all know how special the number 60 is. |

| They release the virus to the Western world... we release NTTD to them.
I'm not sure which will turn out to be worse. |

I'm not sure which will turn out to be worse. A Connery double bill is the only known treatment for Creggvid-19. |

| After each painful trip to the new EON offering I just imagine what the old guard's reaction would be and how we'd all commiserate. Most of all I can hear Young saying stupid and pretentious (like he called Last Year at Marienbad and thus did the FRWL opening to mock it) or Maibaum railing at the story construction and so on... |

| If it's really 165m or more Peter Hunt will faint somewhere in the afterlife. |

| I'd much rather watch the reported 400 minutes of Thunderball, including all the underwater B-roll footage of hammering stakes into the ocean, than 165 minutes of NTTD. |

| It's only about 20 mins longer than OHMSS and Skyfall and 15 longer than SPECTRE, and I never really 'felt the length' (oo-er missus) of those terribly much. So we'll see, but I would hope at that length around half of it is action to prevent longeurs. |

| Problem is I have little faith the narrative will justify its runtime. OHMSS and SF has enough substance to keep us emotionally invested. SP and CR06 are so bloated and self indulgent that they could be at least an hour shorter. |

| SP would have been better for expanding the Brofeld hideaway sequence and dispensing with the London coda. |

Yes, never made sense to me why Brofeld's lair wasn't the setting for the final showdown. The London climax was perhaps the worst half hour of the entire series. |

Yes, never made sense to me why Brofeld's lair wasn't the setting for the final showdown. The London climax was perhaps the worst half hour of the entire series. It felt tired and tacked on. And, of course, it was completely unnecessary. There were no reasons not to simply include some of the coda's elements in the lair sequence, which, in any event, was the much more interesting setting. |

| Indeed. Also just remembering the elaborate interior decorating Brofeld did in Vauxhall Cross, i.e. printing and plastering EON's actual publicity stills of Mads Mikkelsen, Javier Bardem etc. Really was some of the most amateur hour stuff ever farted into a Bond film. |

| Nice to know Blofeld took the time while escaping to pop in to Currys to stock up on some printer ink and paper. |

You're describing heaven to me. I want to see any and all original unused or cut footage. It's a dream of mine to see the four hour TB. |

Really was some of the most amateur hour stuff ever farted into a Bond film. But no Matthieu Amalric. Poor sod. He's the red-headed runt of Snowflake SPECTRE. |

| 'Red-headed runt' would make for good Cockney rhyming slang for another turn of phrase. |

By all means, favor us with that turn of phrase. You're among friends. |

It wouldn't solve all of Spectre's script issues but it would feel much more complete. |

A shame, really. He's one of the best things about the Craig era, in my opinion. |
