| I have been watching M*A*S*H the series these last months. Watched today the episode in which the personel of the 4077th was worried about the behaviour of Potter. It turns out that he is the last survivor of a group of friends he served with in WOI and he salutes to old friend and new friend.
Today I also found out that Harry Morgan (SHerman Potter) has died. It felt very strange. RIP :( |

| Ironside
Tom Dayton is Loose Among Us
lightly sprinkled with Star Trek alumni it's a fairly typical episode. Bill Bixby as the nutso who killed Ed Brown's fiancee years ago back when Ironside walked and indeed resembled a latter day Orson Welles. Classic Ironside in terms of its camera stuff, the dizzy turns, the zooms in and out...that weird thing it does with the cable cars (well, there's a technical term that eludes me) and the incidental music. Oh, for a way of getting some of this stuff. This was the Season 3 concluder, four more seasons went by...a fair few familiar faces, interesting plot lines (some less interesting ones), crazier camera work, Don Mitchell's fro grow by the season (and job description...from Ironside's driver to law student to rookie cop to attorney all in 7 seasons) and so on and so on. Heck, I swear Basehart did an episode.
for those keeping score of the Trek folk
Barbara Anderson (Conscience of the King) Gene Lyons (Taste of Armageddon) William Smithers (Bread and Circuses) William Bramley (Bread and Circuses) Don McDougall, director (Squire of Gothos)

| DEXTER (Season 6)
I've become increasingly impatient with this season of Dexter. I'm glad something happened in the season finale, even if it was something that was entirely predictable (in the sense that it had to be addressed at some point).
With this weird, incest-like thing going on with Deb, I wouldn't be opposed whatsoever to seeing her killed off 10 seconds into next season's premiere. I can't stand her. |

| Thrilling finish to Survivor. Managed to guess 6/9 jury votes this time. There is always something I can't quite factor into how these people think.
I figured Coach had it 5-3-1 over Sophie and Albert, but Sophie beat Coach 6-3 with Albert impressing no-one.
By my count Sophie only had one whole-hearted endorsement (Dawn) while Coach had 3 (Brandon, Cochran and Ozzy).
Of the 5 harder-to-call votes, I correctly figured Sophie would get Rick (as he had it in for both Coach and Albert), and guessed correctly that she might get Edna who truly seemed to be a wildcard.....however I failed to anticpate the anti-coach sentiment of the other three votes that all went Sophie, simply because they had to put their vote somewhere and that somewhere was with Sophie, as the least offensive of the trio. Albert it seems wasn't getting respect from anyone.
Not the most inspiring Survivor victory, with only one hearty endorsement, but it does show that if one can play well enough to get to the final vote, without being an obvious coat-tail rider, one can pick up default votes and claim the million dollars. Well played Sophie! |

| Kojak- "May the Horse Be With You"
how can we not love Telly Savalas. An episode that features the late Jeff Conaway but also, and obviously, the recently departed Dan Frazer -Captain Frank McNeil- who died this week aged 90. Frazer also appeared in a smattering of Bilko episodes amongst many others. Episode, apart from being fairly zany (the end of the series lies in sight), features the shagtastic Roz Kelly.
I need to get some Rockford episodes soon. |

| another Kojak, "60 Miles to Hell"
Crocker(!) kidnapped whilst escorting a prisoner from Vegas. Kojak flies off ends up teaming up with Priscilla Barnes playing one half (with him anyway) a 'topless magician twin...' twin magician topless...twins... On route he meets Liberace, busts in on dancers getting ready for a show and does that deep laugh that only Telly Savalas could do.

| Best of the current crop IMO are Nikita, Fringe, Revenge and Sarah Gellar's Ringer, but they all seem to have disappeared for the winter break.
However when they come back, Ringer might be the only one I actually seek out.
I'd watch 90210 and True Blood, if either came with my cable package but none of my channels seemed to pick up 90210 this year. Sucks.
I'll catch up with True Blood on dvd, and maybe 90210 as well. |

ah, Boston. Wanted to watch that too, they're always tremendous fun ... but as of yet, neither episode has been added to the 'on the digibox' version of the iPlayer. There's always watching it on the BBC site version, I guess ... but it rarely works as well these days, I find. |

I'm a big enough fan of the trio, particularly Rory McGrath who was in his element in the second episode. Personally this was better than the last couple of outings. Iplayer works fine enough on the site, if I have any problem it's the favourites. Can't seem to remove or add things properly. Sheesh. :) |

| Endeavour (2012)
ITV gives us a 25th year anniversary of the First Inspector Morse episode in the guise of a young detective arriving at Oxford on a case of a missing girl. It is all there crossword puzzles, opera music, the Jaguar. It is a one off but with only four episodes of Lewis each year there would be plenty of space for the tales of DC Morse from 1965 upwards. imho
Another brilliant tv movie this year after Sherlock. |

| Saw the first couple FOYLE'S WAR and just loved them. Kitchen is a revelation, he plays so low I wonder if Gary Oldman took a page from him in doing Smiley.
see a guy named Cain on the end credits for production design - wonder if it is Syd Cain's kid. |

| THE INCREASINGLY POOR DECISIONS OF TODD MARGARET :5*: David Cross, Will Arnett I've only just found this show. It's on the IFC (Independent Film Channel), which I didn't even know I had until I saw a review of the show and programmed my dvr to find it. I like David Cross, and thought he was one of the best things about ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT and ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS. It's currently in its second season, and so far the show has been filmed on location in Leeds and Yorkshire(?), England which I like. It's got something to do with Todd trying to sell an energy drink; it's convoluted and some of the plot depends upon knowledge of prior episodes, but it hasn't stopped me from laughing pretty heavily at times. |

| Yep, it's a city in West Yorkshire, alongside Wakefield and Bradford. For South Yorkshire there's Sheffield, Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham; in North Yorkshire there's York, Scarborough, Harrogate and Whitby; while in East Yorkshire, there's nowhere you've ever heard of.
Have you watched RAB C. NESBITT, Grav? |

Have you watched RAB C. NESBITT, Grav? No, I've never heard of it. The latest episode of Todd Margaret features him traveling to a football(?) game being played by the Leeds Lionhearts (if that is indeed a real team). He's trying to sell his energy drink to one of the big name players on the team and he dresses up as a Lionheart in order to get on the field and keep harassing this player. At one point both the Lionhearts and the other team form a group in the center of the field; some of the players get on their knees while the others lock shoulders and heads with each other; both teams form a circle, or a pile, and they start pushing one another until eventually the pile shifts one way and it appears the other team collapses under the weight and strength of the other. WHAT WAS THAT? |

Now, Putin, Russia and the West was something else this week. Talking to most of those that matter including it seems Putin (I didn't see closely whether it was a past collection or present...if present interviews interesting considering the recent events in Russia). Condi Rice always looks surprised. |

| Have fun. Though I gotta say, FRASIER's easily the better of the two, and more consistent (at least until David Angell died on 9/11). |
