Somehow I didn't even realize I had done that but I would rank them all about the same. What Diamonds might lack in traditional Bond structure it makes up for it with it's general weirdness.

FakeNews.com.au has done a ranking of Bond films.

My first thoughts, reading from worst to best, were that these rankings were gonna be terrible given DAF and TMWTGG were near the bottom. In saying that, I was impressed that TLD and OHMSS made it to the top 10 given it often seems like only bona fide Bond ner-- aficionados appreciate them.

TWINE being that high is definitely questionable though.

Casino Royale at No.1 above all the Connery films?

CR is shockingly high, TND shockingly low and very interesting to see TWINE as high as it is. Otherwise a stupidly generic list by someone who shouldn't publish their ranking as news.

It's a respectable ranking. I certainly don't agree with everything in it, but I can say the same for all rankings.

A bit surprised at the high rankings of AVTAK and TWINE. One irritating thing is the statement that LTK is "humourless." Tosh and piffle! It's actually one of the funnier Bond films. Just because LTK is rather dark and violent doesn't make it humorless.

I agree that LTK isn't humourless, but to say it's one of the funnier Bond films... you must give me the name of your oculist!

Man, I'm tellin' ya'--Sanchez and Truman-Lodge are a total barrel of monkeys. And I always get a hearty guffaw at the start of the Barrelhead Bar fight scene. Bond, Pam, Dario and a capungo are sitting at the table. The capungo is staring Bond down. Right as the waitress asks them all if they want another round, Bond slams the capungo's face into the table and says, "He's had enough." And the waitress says "Hokay!" like that's something she sees every day. Cracks me up every time. Then there's Professor Joe Butcher. Even the name elicits a chuckle. "All you guys out there with your beer and your popcorn..."

Then there's highly amusing little things like Q's facial expression when Lupe, speaking of Bond, says, "I love him so much. I don't know what I would do if something happened to him." Then Q tries to placate Pam, who responds, "Aaaaaw bullshit!"

I could do a thread on all the great humor in LTK.

Go for it!

Also... the dancer who continues to perform amid the biggest brawl Barrelhead has ever seen... or is it? Might just be another night.

Yeah, gotta be one of the funniest fight scenes of all time. Hell, even the raunchy, sleazy "Dirty Love" adds to the humor.

I also chuckle at Bond's expression when he tells Pam, "You might have been killed!" after she gets blasted in the back. There's some good visual humor in LTK.

You're not wrong there, Khanners. Lots of great era-specific humour in LTK, from the televangelist to Sancehz's ill-fated Alex P. Keaton clone.

Truman-Lodge is great, too ... a excellent parody of all those uber-confident 80s 'yuppie' assholes, all the funnier because his obsession with the 'numbers' is all in the service of a coke dealer.

It always amuses me when Truman Lodge starts cracking jokes at the bank with the investors, having seen Sanchez do it.

Yep. I guess that sort of stuff goes straight over the head of people who say LTK is humorless.
