| They'll have better transfers for sure. Some of the UE transfers were botched, most notably OHMSS with the added filters and GE's transfer being muddy and cropped, actually worse quality than the SE disc. |

- The poster anouchment and some talking with Campbell is what i have seen. From the information of the Mi6 front page i get the idea it be 11 movies who be released on BD earlier be now extented to 22. The first 20 like the 9 who be released earlier. (copy all extra's and menu from the 2 disc UE) + first release of Casino Royale & the only release of QOS there is. Easy: Simalar to the earlier 44 disc limited set on dvd (with all 2 disc sets of the 22 movies include the in some country's limited 2 disc edition of QOS.) but then on BD.
Made for the people who be intrest to have all 22 movies on BD in 1 package.
Sjure there going to release the 11 other movies on BD who aren't release yet. This possible going to happen in a couple of months. With the release of Skyfall i think we can expect the new QOS release on DVD an BD.
In December 2001, 6-7 months after the release of SE's there making anouchment of the boxset with all SE's for 2002. I whas very mad about. Til the car collection it be moost expensive Bond buy. Soundtracks happend the same, there release all soundtracks from Dr No til Moonraker & FYEO, OP, AVTAK and TLD (in specialy those last 4 be very dificult to find and very expensive.) in 2001 and 2002 but then in 2003 there re-release them and some of them with more tracks. You must understand that 2001 whas for me the start with internet and bulding up my collection. Whyle Twine be my first dvd who i buy in 2000. So i whas very happy to see those Dr No til MR soundtracks.
Extra comment: http://homecinema.thedigitalfix.com/content/id/68411/james-bond-on-us-blu-ray-in-october.html Information about the 9 movis who already be released on BD. From reviews i read from those UE i have understand in The Netherlands there AVTAK one is better then Uk one, whyle in the Uk TMND is better then the Dutch version. About OHMSS i read there be problems with the subtitels with bonus material. Python already confirmd, the biggest problem be Goldeneye. And of course Die Another Day whas un needed release because DAD SE is the best dvd we got at the moment. What people also keep in mind is tha you always wil lose with of the 2 the versions Eon deside to in the set. If it going to be first disc of the 2 disc CE of Casino Royale what mean you get a audiocommentary and that's it. Because all extra's who be on the first 1 disc BD in 2007 moved for that 2 disc CE to disc 2. If there deside to at the first release from 2007 you wil get 4 exta's. Inboth vases you wil missing all new extra's from the 2008 releases include audio commentary. What wil mean get in that last case is this (avaible on the first 1 disc BD release and disc 2 on the first 2 disc CE release.): Becoming Bond (26 min) James Bond: For Real (23½ min) Bond Girls Are Forever (2006) (48 min) Chris Cornell Music Video (4 min) If you don't have the UE dvd's atleast and intrest in having all 22 movies on BD and you don't whant more extra's then you can consider it. If you are Dutch, then you can consider also if you have the SE's but not the UE. Because as another extra the extra's wil possible be subtitels as also happend with the UE. The only one i consider be Goldeneye. Because the SE missing some good features. With QOS i wait on a better version, if not then i wil choose earlier for the BD then the dvd (In The Netherlands there only exist offical 1 disc dvd who only have the videoclop from AnotherWay To die and 2 trailers of the movie.)

| I want to see a documentary on the making of the titles sequences from Dr. No up to TWINE.
I want to see the girls, in their full beauty, as they were being filmed for the title sequence before the special effects were added on.
The best ones are still the ones from Octopussy and TLD!! |

| 'Twas wondering... Do you think that they'll re-release Bond 50 with Skyfall included around Christmas? I just think that if you're going to buy a collection, knowing that a new addition in the franchise is being released, wouldn't it be better to wait for its inclusion and get the complete set?
Then again, we all know Bond 24 is in the making, so...

| Seems very unlikely ... I'd imagine Skyfall could well still be in cinemas at Christmas. |

| Wouldn't it be great to have the original UA logos reinstalled from each era at the beginning of each movie!
Some examples below...

| Would be great if they did that. I suspect the reason all the pre-1983 films had the logos replaced with newer ones were done for legal reasons involving Transamerica.
Interestingly, from DN to TB there were no opening logos. It just starts right from the gunbarrel. Here's my understanding of how all the logos play out:
DN-TB: No logo, just straight to the gunbarrel. YOLT: UA logo. OHMSS-FYEO: UA Transamerica Logo OP: MGM then "United Artists Presents" AVTAK: MGM TLD: MGM/UA LTK: UA GE-TND: UA TWINE: MGM 75th Anniversary DAD: MGM: CR: MGM then Columbia (in black in white) QOS: MGM then Columbia |

| What really bugs me about the UA logos is that the one I saw constantly during the mid70s isn't even on youtube. There were several UA-owned theaters in my area, and they'd always splice this thing onto the front of everything, regardless of who made the film. My friends and I just LOVED this bit of animation, which looked vaguely like scanimate product, where you take flat art and use the analog computer to make it undulate. There was this very snappy, catchy music that accompanied it, somewhere between Barry and Mancini would be the only way I can think to describe it, and it's like it disappeared off the face of the earth. Never seen it turn up on any broadcast, any VHS or LD or DVD.
Definitely saw this pasted onto the fronts of the DAF/DN reissue from the early 70s, and I believe the same was the case for L&LD/MWGG a few years later. |

| What I am wondering is why there is still no commentary being offered for QoS.
I would be interesting to know what Forster was thinking. He'd probably just repeat a lot of what he's already said, but still we would at least have a commentary. Craig's observations, well after the fact, might be interesting too.
It doesn't seem that anyone wants to provide a commentary, for fear maybe of sounding like cheerleaders for the film, when they know they should offer-up at least some constructive criticism, in order to be taken seriously.
The filmmakers are ducking their responsibilities IMO. Weenies. Bond-up and face the music! |

| The set now comes with a big poster book as well. This is frustrating. I want that book, but I still don't want to re-purchase 13 blu-rays. MGM and Fox..... have added a special collectible with it: a Limited Edition hardcover book James Bond: 50 Years of Movie Posters available exclusively through Amazon.com. I'd buy that book, just for the awesome cover. What a great coffe-table book! |

Decisions, decisions ... |

| ^ I've got that same poster book -a big paperback monster, but I really like that new hardcover as a throw-in bonus. When the time comes, if the price comes down, I may have to spring. It is reasonably priced already at $199.99 but not if you already own 13/22 movies.
Smart money says I'm eventually going to break down and buy this thing. |

| I have a James Bond movie posters book, but I'm not sure if it's from the same publisher.
This is very tempting, though. Bond has had some brilliant posters over the 50 years.
And for $30-40, it's not a bad price. |

| That's fucking weak for the Craig films. And they're not even putting the special features from the 2008 Collector's Edition of CR. Why?
It's like when the UE box sets came out and DAD had less substantial features than the 2003 DVD release. It doesn't make any sense.
Also, Forster was on record saying that a commentary with him and MGW was recorded for what would have been the SE release of QOS (scrapped once the MGM problems came along). So, what the fuck happened to that? |

| Maybe there is still a QoS collectors edition blu-ray release in the works. Maybe its being set aside so as not to interfere with sales of the Big Box set. Again, maybe, maybe. I don't know. But it would be a way to sucker more cash out of the fan base. Just got to have that stand-alone QoS collector's edition, to put beside the CR collector's edition. From CR forward, us fans I think are being conditioned to buy two releases of each film....the original release and the Collectors edition. The new stuff seems to be the disc 23 material: The World of Bond and the Being Bond featurettes plus the SF videoblogs DISC TWENTY THREE - Bonus Material
- NEW – The World of Bond – the 007 films have a look, style and attitude that is signature Bond. From the cars, to the women, to the villains and even the music, Bond films stand apart. The World of Bond takes the viewer through the best of five decades worth of classic James Bond in one thrilling montage. The World of Bond showcases the fascinating and entertaining interplay among unforgettable moments of danger, seduction, adventure and a dash of that distinguished humor that fans have cherished from the beginning up until now. To add to the experience, The World of Bond featurette will also offer a Pop-Up Trivia option to challenge even the sharpest of fans with little known facts and interesting trivia from the Bond Universe.
- NEW – Being Bond – there's only one James Bond – but he's proven too much for only one actor to play the role. In the franchise's 50-year run, six distinguished actors have taken on the part and secured a spot in cinematic history. Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and Daniel Craig each reflect on the impact and importance of taking on such a famous role. With this piece, gain insight into what each actor brought to the character and discover how they shaped the world's most timeless secret agent.
- SKYFALL Videoblogs – behind-the-scenes look at the making of SKYFALL from the cast and crew.
Also of note: It seems the DAD trailers are missing again. They did come with the original 2003 two-disc dvd release, but those trailers didn't turn up on the blu-ray release. Very odd. The best online deal though does seem to be the Amazon dot com (USA) site which is offering the big hardcover poster book as a throw-in. |
