I wish they would have kept Silva more mysterious, rather than showing him off in this trailer. I would have liked going into the theater not knowing what to expect.
Again, I'll also say that I love the visuals and love the fact that Bond is faking his death again. Still not a fan of NuQ, but I do like the personalized weapon that he gives to 007--very LICENCE TO KILL-esque.
This might turn out to be a solid James Bond film. I have high hopes.

the same thing in LTK (although no doubt some will be calling it a homage  ).
Maybe Skyfall will have references to all of the previous Bond film, like Die Another Day did. I love references, but I don't think they should overuse them. Such as 5 references, no more.

I don't know why, but I had the feeling that somehow Silva knew Monique DeLacroix, if not both Bond's parents. I remember I had seen a picture with Bond and M in fron of some graves(click here to see it in the trailer), and I think I've read somewhere they are Bond parents'. I highly doubt that M is Bond's mother, even if M stands for "Monique", I don't really see M as James' parent. And why would she hide it to him? And Bond as Q's father? It's very weird, especially given the fact there's only about 10 years between Craig and Ben Whishsaw. It would be something like Connery and Harrison Ford in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (in the film, Connery was Ford's father, but there are only 12 years between Connery and Ford).

also, there is still no sign of a new Miss Moneypenny.
Huh? She was all over the place in this trailer. She's driving the Land Rover in Turkey, M is telling her to "take the shot", she's seen shaving Bond.....
THAT is Moneypenny?

The trailer hints at some sort of personal connection between Bond, Silva and/or M. I'm going to say that Silva and Bond used to grow up together in an orphanage in Skyfall, Scotland; Bond turned out alright, working for HMSS, but Silva turned to a life of crime. He blames Bond, yet tries to become just like Bond, even going as far as dying his hair blonde. I think. I don't know. I'm winging it here.
The Die Another Day novel tells that Bond grew up with his aunt after parents' death.

The Bond in the novels may have grown up with an aunt, but the Craig-movie-Bond has not had that timeline established that I'm aware of.
Apparently a new domestic trailer has also been released with significant differences:
So Bond comes back from the dead. But is M surprised? Seems to me she was expecting Bond, which may mean Bond's "death" was a ploy by M and 007. Question is: Was Moneypenny in on the ruse as well? Did she know Bond was going to stage his death? And who was meant to believe Bond was dead?

"You're chasing spies for England. The empire. So old-fashioned."
Combined with the "Think on your sins" message and Bardem's statement that Silva is clearly a villain but that viewers will understand what he's doing, I'm getting the impression that Silva is some sort of Third World avenger bent on harming England for some act in the Cold War. This also gibes with Silva's gray hair which suggests he is old enough to have been alive and well during the Cold War. If I'm correct, SF could well be going down the same political path as QOS.

Looks like the ol' DB5 suffers some damage in this film
This is what happens when you replace Desmond Llewelyn's Q: an Aston Martin with poor materials. Wait, I'm not critizing the new Q, I really like him: infact Craig won it at a chard match, in CR.

The second new trailer is the better one, it show more various footage but it les spoil things for my feeling. Also it starts with the green rank screen what made it better. Some parts of Bardam are better in the first one (Showing him half of his face in car unneeded in my opnion.) and also les Q in that trailer. But from the first one i get more a Die Another Day feeling. In general Some footage remember me to Twine. Second one also more QOS. Must admit don't expect Bardem chacter going be like that (blond hair), expect more like a Henchman.
Whyle of course i have liked it better if Q's introduction not have been in the trailers, now he is in it i you see faster you mis Helen Mccrory chacter.

A rather smart trailer....or two, the action looks very impressive, not quite so convinced by the delivery of the one liners and Severines talk of fear gave me disturbing TWINE flashbacks.....but overall I remain enthused.

Other TWINE connections: MI6 is blown-up....M is the target....in TWINE Elektra sends a message to M by returning the money; in SF Silva sends a message to M on her laptop: Think On Your Sins
Goldeneye: Bond and the villain walk among the statues of fallen empires....Bond meets Xenia/Severin in a casino....Severin is similarly dressed to Xenia, with hair swept up into a bun, black dress, and cigar/cigarette suggestively held in hand

*bounces up and down excitedly and thanks god for a fitted Wonderbra*
It's a Bond film. I'm excited. Okay, I thought the blowing up of MI6 looked a little like a dodgy special effect, but it'll be fine on the big screen. Car chases, mad villains, blowing up trains, and the lovely little landing he does at the end with the broken train carriage.
Yeah, looks like booking a day off work again!

Except that the man espousing these talking points is a psychopathic, peroxided, pervy, freak, with a thing for chequered ties - not Bond and Felix over a pint in a Bolivian bar. Not much more political than "ZA VEST ISZZ DECADENTT!!!" - courtesy of General Orlov or Trevelyan's snide remarks to Bond in GE. They get their comeuppance.
I was impressed by this trailer. Bardem was the highlight, but I liked the handling of Bond's "death", Bond's hobby being "resurrection" (nice nod to "licensed troubleshooter" and "problem eliminator"), the palm print reader on the PPK's handgrip, the slide down the escalator, and the look of it all.
I guess that explains where the rumoured scorpion comes in, as well. Part of a drinking game while lying low with the Greek bird in Turkey.
