| I was just wondering what the running length of SF will be when it comes out. The only official word on it was from Michael G Wilson on BBC Breakfast a few weeks ago when he said "around two hours", since then we have also had a rumour from behind the scenes that it will run approximately 150 minutes (although I do believe that the film is still in the editing state at this moment in time). So what does everybody else think?
Personally, going off of these statements, the look of the film itself so far, the lengths of the Bond films in recent years, as well as their critical analysis, I reckon that SF will be one of the longer Bond films with a running length of around about 130 minutes, maybe 135. |

| 127 (2hr, 7 minutes) - 132 (2hr, 12 minutes) cinema time. 127 minutes is 123 minutes pall time and that is simalar to the pall time of Twine, 132 minutes is 127 minutes PAL time and that is simalar to the pall time of Thunderball and LTK. 127 or 132 pall time, 132 pall time is like Die Another Day.
If more like the time of OHMSS and CR, mabey 139 minutes, CR whas 145. In that case between 139 minutes and 145 minutes :scratch: |

| I am simply going off cinema length (NTSC?), I believe that after PAL conversion 4% (1/25) is taken away from the total running length.
So if SF was, say for example, 131 minutes, it should run approximately 126 minutes after conversion to PAL. |

| I think the film will be as long as it needs to be. |

| Probably 132 to 144 minutes.
I can't see them making this a 3 hr. fiasco--or I at least hope they don't. |

| I'm good with 2 1/2.
Some say CR was too long - some say TB, OHMSS and/or LTK. Not me; I say anything under 2 hrs is too short!
It's been four years - I want my fix, and I want it to last.
QoS was like Kerim Bey's saying: "Give a wolf a taste, then keep him hungry."
I'm ravenous for Skyfall! |

| I'm good with the standard 2hrs 15 mins or so which would remind me of the classic 70s and 80s films.

I'm ravenous for Skyfall! CR and OHMSS were long enough. The films that in my opinon were too long are Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, Live and Let Die, For Your Eyes Only (the ski part was boring, the rest was good), Octopussy, The Living Daylights (all the war part at the end), Tomorrow Never Dies, The World is Not Enough, Die Another Day (the Brosnan films had some boring action scenes) and Quantum of Solace (the whole movie). They could easily remove some scenes from them. |

| I agree that a film should simply run as long as it needs to do but I do find that around 120-135 minutes tends to suit most Bond films (and films in general) the best but there are always exceptions of couse.

| The only Bonds that warranted a 2 hour plus running time were OHMSS and LTK imo, and even they would possibly have benefitted from a few trims. It does depend on the story being told however, GF is very tight at 115mins and could have added a few minutes on one extreme while the wallowy (in more ways than one) CR is a good 30minutes too long - so for me the sweetspot is approximately lies between 115 and 125 minutes. |

| Here's how much ticket prices are in my area for an adult (non-senior citizen, non-student discount).
$10.75 Before 6pm for XD $12.75 After 6pm for XD
$7.50 Before 6pm for Digital Cinema (not 3D, just digital projection) $9.50 After 6pm for Digital Cinema
$10.50 Before 6pm for Real 3D $12.25 After 6pm for Real 3D
$13.25 Before 6pm for IMAX $16.00 After 6pm for IMAX
If you are able to go to the very first showing of the day for any movies in any of the above projection formats (IMAX excluded), you will save $1 to $1.50
My point is for those ticket prices, I want Skyfall to have a reasonable running time to get our money worth.
At least 135-140 min.
105-120 min will be a slap in the face - it takes an average of about 30 min for a person to settled down into a movie.
How many times any of you been to a movie, you are just starting to get into it, you are having a good time and BOOM, the movie is over?
You look at your watch and you realize the movie ran for about 105 min but it felt more like 30 min and you wish there were more?
90 min to 105 min will be bordering on robbery.
Less than 90 min is highway robbery and it adds insult to injury toward us, the movie goers.
IMO, this also applies to any other movies out there;
so many movies now that have a running time of 85-95 min so they can:
1. squeeze in an extra showing or two per day;
2. release a bare bone DVD and then a few months later:
oh look!
we have a Special Edition Director's Cut Special Platinum Collector's DVD with deleted scene
so they can double dip your wallet.
I am starting to believe Hollywood movies are the biggest scam and con-artists around now. |
