Also, I counted 3 Heineken spots (Bond drinks one, Tanner drinks one, and the hotel bar is stocked with them), but didn't see a single Coke Zero. Was amused to see that when Bond's drinking his, his hand's covering the name. |

| IMO, the product placement was very unobtrusive. Honestly, I really didn't notice any at all. |

| The Macallan placement is much more obvious than the Heineken. Which is okay with me as it's a much better drink. |

Well, I did notice that one! But to my mind, that's so up-front that it almost doesn't even qualify as product placement. And at any rate, good Macallan is a tipple I could easily imagine Fleming's Bond enjoying. |

| Yes, and I regard promoting Macallan as education not product placement. A world without whisky would be a sadder place. |

Wouldn't want to live in it. |

| Craig's "put it all on red" clearly derives from Fleming's DAF, where Bond brazenly gambles his pay-off from Shady Tree in Vegas. IIRC Bond might have had an affinity for "red" in CR as well.
====speaking of whiskey, now 6 books into my Flemingathon, I'm not sure how it is that men of purpose and mission manage to get through a day without at least 3 whiskey-and-sodas, preferably doubles. |

There is a couple of them seen when they are in the new MI6 digs, on the desks. Just after Bond is re-introduced to Eve. |

| Bond being watched by then stopped by the goons after talking to Severine was a bit TND, substituting the soundproof room for a Komodo dragon pit. And better, obviously.

At the casino in Macau, Bond tells Eve not to touch her ear. Bond gave the same instruction to Carter in CASINO ROYALE.
During the London Underground chase sequence, Q tells Bond to put his back into it. Bond told Rosamund Pike to put her back into it in DIE ANOTHER DAY. My girlfriend watched CR for the first time a few days before we went to Skyfall, and immediately recognized Craig Bond's pet peeve with rookie field agents. :D |

I confess that on the first viewing, as soon as they dropped into the dragon pit and the hint of a dragon, my first thought was "Rancor pit." For a moment. |

For a moment. Meant to bring this up in another post....but I found the komodo dragons fairly realistic. If they were special effects they were pretty good. We've seen bad f/x in Bond films before; this was not an example. I'm also hoping that there will be a longer sequence with them on the dvd, and maybe more dialogue or scenes with Silva. |

They did seem quite real but failing that, model work of a Derek Meddings-style quality. |

| The Komods weren't great, but far from ERASER or DEEP BLUE SEA bad. |

And more believable too. To this day, I don't believe Broz won that fight. They all seemed to mysteriously fall down while Broz did fight posing. |

True, but in what Bond film is 007 not surrounded by at least a half-dozen enemy agents and not manage to knock them all out, even though they are all holding weapons and he is not? Same with SKYFALL....Silva has about 4 guys on Bond, that I could count, at the scene where they are trying to shoot the shot glass off of Severine, and you'd think at least one guy, maybe two, would take a shot at Bond after he karate chops the first guy. I'd actually be willing to have fewer action scenes in a Bond film if it meant not relying upon this tired, but true, gimmick of setting Bond up in an elaborate situation where it appears that the odds are stacked against him and yet he somehow manages to escape. Gotta love Skyfall, though. Everyone in the office has now packed heat: Old M, New-M, Moneypenny, 007.....and if the trend continues in BOND 24, we're liable to see Q, May, Tanner, and Loelia Poensby all fire off a few semi-automatic weapons or some shotguns. Fun for the whole family! |

| The skulls in the title sequence reminded me on LALD's title sequence, and the the Asian girl with the gun reminded me of TMWTGG's title sequence.
Most others have been mentioned here already. |

Most others have been mentioned here already. Good eye Fields! We're scraping now but you managed to dig out a couple more. @Gravity. Sure Broz isn't the only Bond to take down multiple bad-guys at once, but at least when Craig goes all close -quarter combat, it's somewhat "believable." He sells it better. He moves better. He's a very good physical Bond. |

| Agreed, tiffy. Craig's Bond is a human fragmentation device. Deadly in close quarters. It's a feature I like. |

| Most physically intimidating Bond since Connery, I think ... the air of 'someone who can handle himself' is unmistakeable in Craig's portrayal. |

| Last night's viewing had me notice a few more... not sure if they've been mentioned.
When Bond escapes Skyfall through the tunnel, when the fire breathes its way through after the explosion, it reminded me of AVTAK, when he water gushes through the mines.
When Bond is on the ice lake and shoots around him in a circle, was that supposed to be an homage to The Living Daylights, and how he cuts into the ice with the wheel of the car to dispatch the police car? |
