Quantum of SPECTRE

Okay, this description has been released:

On a trivial note, how should we abbreviate Spectre? i.e. GF = Goldfinger, SF = Skyfall, S = SPECTRE?

SPECTRE might as well be just abbreviated as SPECTRE.

SPECTRE should be abbreviated as SPecial Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion.

I think SPECTRE as a title works if it was an introductory film, but given that we've seen them before in so many films, I assume we're gonna see them again. Which means, how will this one distinguish itself from future films that feature this organisation? And how will it differ from DN, FRWL, TB, YOLT, OHMSS and DAF? I guess it will be like an origins story, but I don't really want that. And if it so happens that it's not an origins story, then SPECTRE as a title won't work.

It works simply as their introduction in this reboot. Doesn't have to be an origin story.

It's more about Eon telling everyone that they have regained the rights to Blofeld and SPECTRE. And why not? It took 50 years.

I think they should do a micro-short film to open the press conference for the next film. Perhaps featuring the new vehicle and Craig, and introducing the title at the end. Maybe about 15 seconds.

It'd be a lot more interesting than Mendes and Babs standing awkwardly on stage, waiting for the title to pop up on the screen.

Maybe more popular now than it's been for 35 years. Skyfall rejuvenated the fanbase and the makers.

Bellucci was announced before Lea, so I assume she is the "main" Bond girl. I thought Lea was rumored to be like a femme fatale type? As others have said, though, it wouldn't surprise me if Dumb and Dumber reached into their same bag of tricks and pulled out another Rendard/Elektra dynamic.

I'm curious to see what kind of role Scott is playing.

Maybe Scott will be the govt. suit trying to rein M and MI6 in. Possibly with an agenda of his own.

Given how this is supposedly following certain threads SKYFALL started, it's likely following what happened at Whitehall with a bunch of government types upset over the incident with Silva.

Thinking about the press conference, there seems little doubt that Baz Bamigboye is the unofficial conduit for Eon. He was right about everything.

Does anyone else really fucking hate that title? I know it isn't a big deal, just curious. The return of SPECTRE could still be hinted at with the bullet and the Octopus-like cracks and then we could at least get a cool title fitting of a Bond movie.

Spectre just makes me cringe.

I like the title, the cast is exceptional, and the new Aston is more aesthetically pleasing than both the DBS and Vanquish.
