| If you're using Chrome or Firefox look into uBlock Origin. It's pretty air tight as far as adblockers go. |

A very good tip. I started using it a couple of months ago and was shocked at how poor a job the other adblockers I'd been using to that point had been doing. |

Anyway, hopefully a new ad block add-on will do the trick. It didn't, no. Just getting the ad under the site banner again now, which for me is currently Booking.com scrolling through other accomodation suggestions in the town I've booked to go on holiday to. |

| New Bond announcement is imminent: Aidan Turner overtakes Tom Hiddleston as favourite
Not sure why an "announcement is imminent" when no director has been named, no studio has partnered with EON, and no release date, writers, or script is ready. But if Turner is Bond, I could buy in. He's good in Poldark.

| This Turner character is tarnished by the fact that he was in those abominable Hobbit movies. I suppose he looks reasonably Bondish in this getup: Still, I'm on Team (F)assbender. |

| This latest round of "news" is coming straight from the bookie taking bets on the next Bond. According to the article posted above, he's the one claiming that an announcement is coming soon. I can't imagine that a bookie would have that information, and especially a bookie that the last time around had Hugh Jackman and Ewan McGregor as the favorites to take over for Pierce Brosnan, rather than a source like Deadline or Variety if it actually had any truth behind it. |

| Was Bond's scar on the right or left side of the face? In any event, if the hair was shorter and had a lock dangling over his face, he might be spot-on as Fleming's version. Colonial-period films, books, tv, etc...are my favorite, so I've watched the entire season of Poldark two or three times already. When Season 2 comes around to the States I'll buy it. He's good. I think he should be given consideration. Don't know whether he can play any light comedy cause I haven't seen him in anything but Poldark. But based on Poldark he can do action, drama, romance...He's at a very good age for the role as well. He'd have a lot more time to grow into the role before age starts to catch up. I personally think Craig is still very physically fit for the role; my problem with Craig at this point is that he seems bored with it all and I think that sort of attitude has seeped over into every other aspect of the production of SPECTRE. Turner's casting would be a slate-cleaner (I would hope). As much I like Wishaw's take on Q (and Fiennes as M), when a new actor comes in I think it almost necessitates cleaning house with actors I like. Loved Dench, but thought she belonged to Brosnan's Bond and should not have been brought back. I could also live with Hiddleston, but I would not offer any quarter if Elba were hired. Don't really see Tom Hardy in it; could probably live with Fassbender, but he would seem a bit too old for the role if we're now saying Craig is too old. Turner makes the most sensible choice. |

There's about a ten year gap between Craig and Fassbender. And Fassbender still looks early 30s - Craig has always looked his age or older. Like I said, Turner looks too mousy for Bond. Bond is a man. |

| Elba has said in a recent interview with Esquire that he wouldn't want to be 'the first black Bond', just the latest actor to play the part. But he knows that wouldn't happen, and admitted that he would find the resultant hoo-ha over his casting 'massively off-putting'. |

Fleming's Bond was never really described as a beefcake. He did some crunches in the morning but never set about getting swole at the gym. Jawline's a little weak though, I'll give you that. Which reminds me, who was that balding chap on Ye Olde MI6 who filmed that audition tape vying to replace Daniel Craig? Name escapes me. |

| Yeah don't want a hulk Bond. I want a Connery/Lazenby/Dalton/Brosnan/Fassbender shape James Bond. I'm talking about Turner's face. You're not talking about CASINOROYALE? |

| Wasn't Hoagy Carmichael Fleming's initial reference for how Bond should look.... In that regard Turner, Fassbender and more particularly Hiddlestone all capture something of that spirit (and hopefully it might in turn inspire the screenwriters back to more inventive action than the bullish thuggery that infects Craig's era). |

Yeah, Hoagy came to mind with Turner. Not that they look that much alike, but similar build, slender-ish face etc. |

| I'd be ok with Hiddleston as long as the tone of the films are right. Make them lighter, realise that he's not Craig's successor, and I can see him being a smooth, charming Moore-type. |

| None of the current media obsessions to replace Craig really do it for me. I would be able to give Hiddleston a chance at least, so that would put him at the top of the list of those that have, according to the tabloids, already met for the part.
Can't say that I have any desire to see Turner take over the part. There are far better choices out there. |

| Probably have to go with Aidan Turner at this point. I've seen him in Poldark and just finished seeing him in AND THEN THERE WERE NONE, and while ATTWN was not all that great, Turner's performance makes me think he's got what it takes to be the next James Bond; he looks and acted like Fleming's Bond (as opposed to Craig acting, but not looking, like Fleming's idea of 007).
So at this point I have to lean towards Turner, but will make my final decision after I see THE NIGHT MANAGER. I could live with Hiddleston, but would prefer the actor resemble more of what Fleming had in mind. Turner looks like a young Timothy Dalton...sort of.
Turner could get me interested in Bond again. Maybe Hiddleston or Fassbender. But not Damian Lewis (Bond can't be a ginger) and certainly not Idris Elba (or any "person of color" for that matter). |

| Craig only acts as Fleming's Bond in SF. There are 'variations of' in QOS and SP, and then it's Jason Bourne who forgot his identity and called himself James Bond in CR.
But I agree with you in that I could live with Hiddleston, but for me, it's Fassbender who should get the gig.
Saw a post on facey that Daniel Craig has said he hasn't made up his mind. Didn't click into the article because a new article will come out next week contradicting it. |

| Bond not due out till 2018 at the earliest, it seems.
http://www.digitalspy.com/movies/james-bond-007/news/a802167/james-bond-will-return-2018-at-the-very-earliest-apparently/?utm_content=buffer3572a&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook&utm_campaign=mainfacebookpost
Must have realised that they screwed up the narrative of SPECTRE so they want the extra time to script out Bond 25 properly. But I really, really hope that they aren't holding out for Craig. He'd be too old by then. |
