James Bond Youtube Thread

It took me years to track down clean copies of DN through LTK. I never dreamed I might find any affordable UK copies to compare them with.

Some like OHMSS sound stellar, and most sound really great. It is hard to go back to some of the cut down cues though. The 2003 remaster series did wonders for the few that were expanded but they never were given the time or money to go back and do each properly. Some titles still sound best on LP which I'd argue would be: LALD (bassier mix but not expanded like the CD), TMWTGG, TSWLM, MR, OP and AVTAK.

Pretty much picks apart everything wrong with CR06. Excellent find! I've only seen two videos from this guy: Cats and now Casino Royale - two terrible films.

Excellent Bond theme compilation too. They should have used Backseat Driver for TND and a different part of Come in 007 for TWINE, but still, very interesting to hear.

Yes, same. That first 40 seconds or so is what I associate with TWINE, if one were to associate little musical grabs with an entire Bond film.

I do too. I seem to recall Kitts shared it with me on FB just after MI6 did. Brilliantly edited and Rich Douglas' remixed theme works wonders .

I'm going to post again but this rendition of the theme, 1977 I think, is something else.

Could imagine it possibly used in a later Lazenby edition.

The synth is certainly very 70's. OHMSS meets Logan's Run.

Decided, with encouragement and some red wine, to do Bond reviews on the YouTube. I, er, always wanted to do videos and initially started doing isolation stuff then my history (if the tour guide can't go to London...) and anyway, a caveat, disclaimer, etc:

I'm not Orson Welles nor Peter Hunt et al so editing is what it is, I'm using a Movie Maker thing from Windows 10's store. The first vid is long as I decided it was easier to do the first four as one because I had gotten to Thunderball by the time idea struck. It took a good 16hrs to upload, so go figure.

In a way it's an attempt to drum up more recruits as well as just to keep me from going totally insane. So, you're going to see/hear ol' Hilly I'm afraid. Do not adjust your sets...

that's it for now. I've become acquainted with the YouTube process past month. Videos over 10-15mins tend to average 3-4hrs upload (formatting can take 1-2hrs). 30+ has taken me 2h to format, over 5h upload and that 50min took 16hrs.

So, we'll see. Lockdown and all but I have fatigue at these films for some reason so I'm not sure.
