I'll tell you all something about myself: I have a somewhat short memory at times. In this Information Overload Age I guess it's getting shorter and shorter everyday, which is why reading that thread felt almost like it was brand new. It's also why I have a tendency to forget sometimes what I may have said to someone else or what they have said to me that might have made one another mad. Sometimes I forget who I'm supposed to be mad at, but as of right now I have no one in my Ignore Filter.
What I found interesting was that M was supportive of the course of action being taken against J7Wild the entire way up and until, it appears, Mrs. Aural Sects pleaded on J7Wild's behalf. For that JWild should be grateful and thankful to Mrs. Sects.
But now the alternate history questions are: if two moderators hadn't poked fun at JWild by editing his posts, would the outcome of the ban have been any different? And if Mrs.Sects hadn't gone to M and put her own reputation on the line, would the decision to ban JWild have stood?
In that thread it is M that states he received 13 emailed complaints about JWild, at least two coming from Forum Motion themselves. They probably weren't all Erica Ambler. Even if half were Ambler, that still leaves you with about 4 members complaining to M about JWild, and two emails from Forum Motion.
I think this thread is ultimately going to prove educational and cathartic and we'll all emerge from this learning how to better handle difficult people like JWild. Right?

If Ambler's coming back, I wish he'd just do it. Creating all these alter-accounts is more than a bit silly.

If no one had tampered with his posts, to the point that his own posting got him in trouble, then yes, he wouldn't have a leg to stand on. But when he spoke to me, he insisted that he was basically framed for some of the things held against him. At the time I didn't know who was responsible for the tampering, but in essence, and hindsight, it was wrong. And the way things were going, it was a free-for-all parade at j7wild's expense which I also thought was wrong. I simply told M I didn't want to be part of that environment because I didn't firmly believe that j7wild was 100% deserving of it.
I'm glad to know that at least one other person spoke up for j7wild. That person is clearly a whole lot smarter of me because it was done more discretely, yet with the same effect. It's kind of good knowing there's another watchdog around who believed some fairplay was needed and made a case for it. I don't want to speculate on who you are, but stay as you are, the board needs you.
And by the way GS...I don't have problems at home or at work. Life is good. I never for the life of me thought I'd be a mother or wife, far less both, but I'm loving every second of it. Also have a good job, good position, in one of the best paying companies in the country. My only problem was what I thought was happening on this board. Maybe I'm getting old...I'm 30...but I don't have the patience to maintain fights as the old Dog Bond used to...not when she can use quality time getting laid or hugging one of her kids....

Fair enough. I apologize if my comments were wrong or offensive.
However, you don't need to maintain fights to get your points across; just stop leaving in a huff every time some difficulty occurs.
P.S. Are you punishing the forum members by withholding your avatars?

Indeed. Though imagine if this j8wild one had been released. I'd imagine j7's paranoia would be rampant.
Mine would if someone had a similar username. Well, maybe.
Someone make mine a double scotch and easy on the rest.

I suspect Ambler is having a good old chuckle, even if we find it tiresome. Usernames as critiques of the forum no less.

This thread has got to go, I'm afraid to say. Either that, or it be locked or made public domain.
The archive isn't here for the sole purpose of bashing other members in a place where they can't defend themselves. It's for private relevant discussion or for after-the-fact archiving of potentially offensive material (the MI6 debacle for instance).
I'm not losing Mrs Aural Sects or any other good members from this forum over a few completely unnecessary jibes about j7wild. We have ten moderators here for a reason. j7wild isn't exactly posting porn on here right now, so there shouldn't be a problem handling him. We claim not to be an elitist forum and, believe it or not, forums usually need variety and diversity in their member ranks or every single post would just be preaching to the converted. Let's prove our tolerance and diversity. Of course, if j7wild posts something irrevocably offensive again, then I'll fire him for it, don't worry.
But, in the meantime, if j7wild posts something you dislike or don't agree with, just remember that you have the complete right to just ignore it.

Exactly. He has next to nothing intelligent to contribute, and brings down the market price of these forums with his drivel.
Call it elitist, discriminating or whatever you like, but I call it having standards.

Can we at least wait until j7wild says something truly offensive or dumbass enough to justify a banning before just lynching him? He's hung himself with his own rope before, he'll likely do it again. Just be patient. If he steps out of line, there'll be no excuses and no third chances.
Does anyone have anything else relevant to add before this thread gets locked? Because this thread has become a shooting gallery.

I have no idea if this is even the case, but if j7's presence is the reason Ambler went into hiding, I think it's worth sacrificing j7 for his return. Personally, I think Ambler comes off a bid stodgy sometimes, but that's a bit par for the course around here, and certainly beats the bullshit j7 spews out.
I think it's a bit ridiculous that we've hung rope for j7 on multiple occasions, but instead of using it to climb the ladder, he's hung himself with it. I'm not really sure how allowing him to stay around and continuing to possibly jeopardize the forum's existence takes more importance than the risk of one or two members seeking asylum somewhere else because of the threat of j7 getting banned. As much as I enjoy having Dog Bond around, even if she goes with j7, his exile would ultimately be better for the forum.
My two cents, of course.
tl;dr Ambler > j7.

Given M's comments about how j7 will only be banned if (and when) he says or does something stupid that breaks the rules, I suggest creating a thread for Ambler and j7 to have it out, with the loser banished forever.
I'm going to go and watch THUNDERDOME.
