| Yeah. That final shot of Waltz you posted is stunning and a killer way to nail down the "return of SPECTRE" tease. |

| For me, it's the ring that makes it. The old octopus rings were pretty brazen, but I like the way these ones are so much more subtle. I can picture SPECTRE members twisting them around to hide the engraving. |

| The thing about SF's action is that it never got in the way of the story. Look at the airport chase in CR - sure, it's a bit of fun, but it gets in the way. The plot came to a halt to let the action take place, and then only started up again when the action was over. I'm pretty confident that Mendes can get the balance right, and create that more organic feeling again. |

Yeah the ring and the meeting made it for me. |

Indeed the films are chalk and cheese as regards action and pacing, SF has a neatly woven beat to it making for an organic flow whereas CR is erratic and discontinuous like two entirely different films have been spliced one often undermining the other. |

The first half of CR could have ended with Bond killing Dimitrios. It probably would have been better that way. |

I'm guessing the other young man in the photo is Waltz's character. It probably won't do much to placate those opposed to depictions of Bond's childhood, though. However, I'm willing to bet that one of two things will happen. Either: - Spoiler:
Hannes Oberhauser was a member of SPECTRE who defied their orders. Franz killed him and took his place, admitting to having always hated his father and thus getting a certain satisfaction out of it. He is now an Emilio Largo sort, as Blofeld's right-hand man.
Or: - Spoiler:
Blofeld became aware of Bond's presence and delved into his life, looking for an exposed nerve. He murders Franz Oberhauser and assumes his identity, looking to take Bond by surprise when the time came for a confrontation.

| I think so, too, but: - Spoiler:
I love the idea that SPECTRE has always existed in some way, shape or form - and that only its most recent incarnations have become malicious.

| Love that the trailer didn't tease us with action but instead chose to tease the mystique of SPECTRE itself. Waltz's ominous presence at the end is too great for words. |

| I'm hoping we'll get some backstory to SPECTRE this time around. The original films treated them as a kind of amorphous evil that could be reshaped to fit the needs of the plot. Which is what they were, but Fleming gave them a history in the novels, which I think really worked towards establishing them as a threat. |

| I'm not sure why it didn't grab me like it has everyone else. Am I missing something, or seeing a different trailer to everyone else?
I quite like the shots - Very Nolanesque, and like seeing some new Bond scenes, but the whole Bond on another personal mission, and linking SPECTRE to Bond's past has nothing to do with Fleming. Why can't they go back and use some untapped Fleming material, inside of rewriting Bond history.
Feeling a bit underwhelmed to be honest. I thought unearthing Bond's past was enough for SF, but I don't really want to see more of this again. I was hoping for a straightforward Bond film for once - action packed PTS, Bond gets briefed by M to go after SPECTRE, and Bond is on a mission for Queen and country, not another revenge, personal motive angle....again!
I hope I feel different after watching it a few more times, and I hope the next trailer gets me more excited on first viewing. |

| We don't necessarily know what role the connection to Bond's childhood will play. After all, we don't know what the actual plot is. We knew what CR's was because it was CR. We knew was the plot of QOS was going to be because Wilson pretty much spelt it out to start with. And while we knew part of SF's plot, we didn't know all of it. But here, we know pretty much nothing except that SPECTRE exists. It's possible that the exploration of Bond's childhood will simply be limited to putting him in a position where he has to address the idea that evil can exist anywhere, even in people that he thinks he knows. After all, everyone was deathly afraid that Bond's childhood would be fundamental to SKYFALL, but in the end, he just went back to his remote childhood home because it was a convenient place to make a final stand. |

| What you say Jet Set is how I feel about the start of the trailer, but when we are introduced to Mr White again, that's what started the excitement for me…
My only reservation is what appears to be hinting at Bond and the villain (Blofeld?) were childhood friends… I haven't read the spoiler leaks and don't intend to, and while I may be totally incorrect, it just screams like a melodramatic version of Austin Powers… I'm hoping I'm wrong - and I don't really want an answer to it until I watch the film - but there is so much else that I'm looking forward to in it, plus what was in the second half of the trailer really teased me. There's lot's of promise elsewhere, and have faith in the creative team that they will deliver in every other aspect. |

| I think the big question is not "what is Bond's secret?", but rather "why is it a secret?" - why has Bond consciously chosen to keep this aspect of his personal history to himself? Was it just because it was a particularly painful chapter of his life? Or is there something more sinister to it? |

How would Nancy Pelosi put it? 'You have to make the film to know what's in the film'???? Actually, we'll all know what the plot is once Mexico tells us what we're allowed to see. Truth is, there's no plot for SPECTURD. There never was. $350 million dollar gold-plated turd coming your way November 6th. I've made peace with this fact; suggest everyone else do likewise. |

| I'm with FieldsMan on this. The beginning of the trailer had me feeling a bit "haven't we been here, done this?" in a not-so-good way but then once Mr. White popped up I was incredibly excited. Then it became, "we've been here, done this, and it's back after 40+ years" in the best way possible. |

| Gravity, why are you claiming that there is no plot for this film? What gives you that idea?
I highly doubt Mendes would have tackled this project without a solid story. |
