I do have a little hope seeing as it's Whedon (ducks Sharky and his machine gun: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pQgsVYPXgOo#t=35s), and I think SERENITY is a good piece of work.
Then again, the trailer is very reliant on jokey dialogue backing up the whole teaming up thing. I think part of where this film could succeed or fail is the villain. If it's somebody who looks like they could have been easily taken down by just one of there characters alone the movie may not be very exciting.
That said, a Justice League movie would appeal to me more. Of course out of the Nolan universe. A stand alone Justice League movie with completely different actors as the characters, so there isn't same baggage as here.
I'll see IRON MAN 2, THOR, and CAPTAIN AMERICA. CA is the only one that strikes me as truly interesting.
Guess I gotta see the HULK movies too. The Norton one because I hear it's better and the Eric Banal (winner of the Sam Worthingon Dull as Fuck award) one because sadly Banal is in this new one.

That trailer needs a Nickelback song.

I only saw THE INCREDIBLE HULK once when it came out in theaters but I do remember it being a fairly solid flick (though the climax is kinda lame), I actually liked it a lot more than the universally loved IRON MAN, saw that twice and I never thought it exceeded "okay". I'm really not interested in seeing 2 either, but maybe I'll get around to that if I'm bored enough. CAPTAIN AMERICA made a nice popcorn adventure flick in the tradition of THE ROCKETEER that I thought it was too early to have him brought into the AVENGERS era after only one flick.
THOR was a very odd experience for me. My school had a free screening of it so I thought it would be a good time killer. It's such an unconventional flick with the hero being banished on Earth spending the whole hour without his powers smashing coffee cups at Denny's. It's got a very campy vibe that kinda helped me go along with it, but I sometimes wondered if Branagh knew what the hell he was doing. I don't know what the point of the dutch angles were. It had Portman, so that's something.
So, about the trailer? Looks okay but I agree with Tux on that the involvement of Whedon has me interested.

If I were to rank the "pre"Avengers flicks:
1. CAPTAIN AMERICA 2. IRON MAN 3. IRON MAN 2 4. THOR 5. THE INCREDIBLE HULK

By the way, if anyone is wondering about the timeline of the films leading up to THE AVENGERS, it basically is as follows:
1939-1945 -- CAPTAIN AMERICA 2006 - 2007 -- HULK (Ang Lee's film is only semi-canonical to this series, but it serves as a Hulk origin film, with INCREDIBLE HULK being a sequel/reboot) May-October, 2009 -- IRON MAN April 25-May 21, 2010 -- IRON MAN 2 May 2, 2010-May 26, 2010 -- THE INCREDIBLE HULK (retcons the story told in HULK slightly) May 14, 2010-May 19, 2010 -- THOR
One may therefore notice that basically IRON MAN 2, THE INCREDIBLE HULK and THOR all take place simultaneously to some degree.

The only superhero films I enjoyed last decade, were X MEN 2, HULK and SUPERMAN RETURNS.

Not bad, but the music is irritating. Hopefully it's much better in the actual movie.
