I'll finish off that Parducci pinot noir tonight. Might be watching TLD, too. If so, a martini, made with Puerta de Indias gin, could well be in the cards.

A bit boring today, drinking Carlsberg. I associate Danish beer with Roskilde.

Roskilde--is that roadkill in Danish?

Fixed myself a Manhattan last night. First one I ever had. It's a mixture of whiskey, vermouth and bitters, shaken over ice and poured into a frosted martini glass. It was good, but I know of better uses for whiskey.

Yes, and there is a yearly roadkill festival there. One must have Tuborg or Carlsberg with roadkill.

Last night it was Madri and Staropramen (Spanish and Czech lagers). Perfect with the warm summer weather we're currently having here.

Best ginger beer/ale I've ever had--by a parsec, mind you--is Goya brand. Very, very sharp ginger bite and not too sweet.

Personally, I love Bundaberg and Old Jamaica. Goya is unknown to me.

I've heard Old Jamaica is great, and I know it is popular in the UK. Have never seen it where I live.

Goya is a Spanish brand. They make all sorts of food products, but mostly those with a Mediterranean, Caribbean or Latin-American pedigree.

There is only one shop here where I can attain it, a Pakistani one.

When it comes to ginger ale, I prefer the non-alcoholic ones.

Last night ... Angelo Poretti (Italian lager) , Guinness, local brew Belfast Lager and some Staropramen (again).

Staropramen--I assume that's a beer with a Japanese noodlely flavor...

Czech lager. Although the one you suggested is probably being worked on by a craft beer microbrewer as we speak.

Bond drank a vodka tonic in Thunderball. Thought I'd try one myself. Most excellent. Lighter than a G&T, and perfect for blistering hot weather. I think I shall drink many of these in the coming years.

Lotta sugar in tonic. My medical advice is to add two parts vodka and, instead of tonic, fill the remainder of the glass with vodka.

Hold the fruit too.

Ha. Alas, I use Q Spectacular Tonic water, which is the least sweet I've been able to find. Most tonic waters are pretty insipid.

Trust Q Branch to come up with a great tonic water...

Anyway, not sure that brand is available over here, but would agree that skimping on quality tonic and going for sickly sweet supermarket lemon fizz is a surefire way of ruining an otherwise refreshing G/V&T.
